Well lets see... the day started badly, some bad stuff happened, the day got progessively worse... all in all lets just call it a bad day....

I just wanted a general whinge really and couldn't find an appropriate thread to stick it in, everyone else is free to whinge about thier own crap here as well....

So firstly i wake up and my face is looking kinda blotchy, just red patches in some places and skin just looks generally unhealthy, also facial hair had been left growing a little bit too long and was pretty scruffy looking.... something must be done!

So grizzy decided to have a shave to start with... had some anti friction shave gel for christmas so i thought i would give that a bash, now i don't know if i did something wrong here but first it was going fine... then towards the end of my shave it was wrong.... it felt basically like i was having a dry shave with my skin being bone dry... i didn't bother stopping because i had practically finished... so finished shaving and a minute or 2 later i have something like a pink rash mainly on the left side of my mouth and just above my mouth to the left.... it looks like some dodgy std on my face and with the blotchyness i already had... Gah!

Well if that wasn't enough...

Back before christmas my friend left his shaver done my house, not one for a clean shave but one with numbers similar to the ones they use in a hairdressers, i usually have him do it for me but he wasn't there so i decided to do it myself, cut the hair length's a little off in a few areas but it looks ok. A few days later my friend points out a bald patch in the back of my head.... i think it can't be that bad because no one has said anything to me... but he takes a picture and its a circle about an inch all the way across... ok i think just have to wait like a few weeks maybe over a month and it will grow back...

So after several attempts recently to tell myself if theres hair growing back in the patch (its on the back of my head) i finally gave up and asked my mum... so said no... hmmm not good news... she has a little look on NHS direct and it could be i have some disease!!

The hair could take 6-12 months to grow back... or may not grow back at all (in 1 in 10 people) and apparently stress could be a factor.... which is annoying as i think i might be permanently stressed and present as a chilled out care free attitude... infact so ingrained am i into a care free chilled out attitude that i couldn't even begin to think how to stop the stress...

Whinge Whinge Whinge!!!

I feel better now :beam:

Good luck with the hair loss thingy LG. You might want to change your Org name from LittleGrizzly to LittleBare until the condition improves...~D

lol @ greg

Those hair regrowth things actually work... ?

I always thought they were a scam similar to those pills that can add an extra couple of inches (not personal experience im just assuming they are a scam...)

Supposedly rogaine works really well. My Godfather swears by it and I've known that guy for 18 years.

Relax, mate, chicks totally dig it. You just have to come to terms with it and not let it bother you and after that it won't bother anyone else...

I dunno, man; I heard that stuff makes a guy flaccid.

actually thats the other hair loss stopping poduct, i can't remember the name right now but it was in pill form, unless my memory has completely gone from what i read, this rogaine uses natural ingredients so has no side effects, theres a pill which can cause flaccidity and other side effects and then something called provillus (or something like it) which has the hair growing and baldness stopping effects of both but only using natural ingredients so no side effects

A lot of it depends on what's the cause. Usually men lose hair because of testosterone in later years, that's why many men have "rare" hair (what's the expression here?), as they get older. Add other factors like stress, diet, hair quality etc... and you've got a pretty interesting mix. My advice would be see the doctor before you do anything. If it's because of testosterone, you could take as many natural pills as you want, it's unlikely to make a difference. It may save you money and time..

my mother has some hair loss, you can order stuff for it, these pills she gets from most supermarkets, not that effective but if its just a small patch it should work, and hows the skin? :balloon2:

I completely agree. See a doctor before you take a medicine or a natural remedy.

I probably will see a doctor before I start taking anything... usually a good idea...

Skins feeling a lot better today thanks! It's looking a lot better as well.... still some red bumpy patches at the top of my cheeks, but significantly faded and probably gone with a few days good care and some significant water drinking..

Although i have some small red scratches left from that terrible attempt at shaving... just to clarify... can you use anti fricition shave gel by itself or are you supposed to use mousse as well... i may have just put too much of the stuff on... it seemed ok at first...

umm i think ill stick with my real hair for the moment... the bald patch is covered by what can only be described as a 'comb over' except that it doesn't involve any moving of my hair it naturally covers it
