Hi

The RTR feature "Area of Recruitment" (AOR) seems to be a very good idea.
I believe EB has a similar kind of thing but I don't see it "advertised" as a key feature of the mod in the same way it is promoted in RTR.

How is the AOR in EB similar/different to the one in RTR/How does it work in EB?

Secondly, I was reading some old post in early 2007 about EB and a user mentioned this about EB:

"-Traveling the Map can get a bit...Annoying if you're accustomed to traveling long distances with no rest(Migration)
If you feel that you need to Migrate, turn off the scripts"

What is this feature he is talking about?

Cheers

In RTR after the capture of the province U need to carry out cultural assimilation (there are... 3 levels?), which allows larger number of available units at the next levels of the barracks; at the lowest level of the barracks, you can recruit units of the lowest regional level and at the highest level barracks U can recruit elite units characteristic for Ur nation. After succesful conquer of province you first need to pacify it, and then choose the type of control that you will be held on it. In EB are 3 types of control: full incorporation, subordination, the status of ally, and a puppet state which allows the recruitment of General/Governor. The higher the degree of subordination the higher level of the barracks you can build a national and thus more types of its units you can recruit. The lower degree of subordination the higher level of regional barracks U can build and more types of such units U can muster.
Another thing is that some factional units U can recruit only in some provinces and same thing with factional units; use RECRUITMENT VIEWER for help with this.

For me advertising of AoR is like advertising PC as a thing you can use to create software, messing up aims and means.

Traveling the Map can get a bit...Annoying if you're accustomed to traveling long distances with no rest(Migration)
If you feel that you need to Migrate, turn off the scripts

It seems the user refers to a feature making generals tired (thus decreasing his movement, management etc) if you continuously move him across the map. Although it has been implemented not in the background script so the advice does not make sense.

Think this might be referring to the forced marching traits. If you repeatedly use up all the movement points of a family member they will get traits that will slow them down, do this too much and they'll be barely able move. Also there are movement restrictions in certain season depending on where you are (summer in desert areas, winter in temperate).

These only apply to family members, captains and suchlike are not affected as they cannot recieve traits.

edit: resting them for a turn or too allows them to recover

OK thanks for replies.

...but once they get a "slow" trait, that trait never disappears?

no as i said resting them (ie not moving them) for a turn or two will remove the trait.

After that they'll be ready to carry out whatever nefairous deeds you have planned.:viking:

OK thanks....never knew traits could be lost once they got em! Is this special to EB or did it also happen in vanilla RTW?
Is this also the case in MTW2?

If you force march a really pessamistic general for a long time, he may take a long time or may never loose the negative traits.

As for the AoR, each province has its own markers allowing for selection of indivual province select resulting in an extremely complex AoR in EB.
