Almost certainly! The RTW and M2TW demos were both downloadable. The only real worry is the size of the demo, it may take a long time to download.

Yes to get the e-mail announcement, but you don't have to to download the demo (I'm guessing).

Since it will be distributed through steam I don't see any reason you'd have to be a SEGA member. All Sega member does is they will send you a e-mail saying the demo is out, come get it.

They will probably also do some kind of ramp up with a few screenshots.


Of course these things are minor to some fans, but vital to others (mainly us demo fantatics.) :laugh4:

Does anyone know if Steam still does that crap where you have to be on the internet to play your offline games? I haven't had any issues recently with games like HL2 but I'm not sure if that's luck or whatever...

I havn't ever tried a steam demo, so I'm unsure.


One thing though, on a beta anyway. If you check the box that says update automatically, I found steam would not let me run the game offline because it thought I required it to update automatically online.

With a demo though, your not doing a mutliplayer online beta, so in reality you should just download the files and then that should be the end of steam.

While steam is a launch device for empire, i'm not sure it will be required to launch the demo, as the demo will most likely have no multiplayer.

CA has confirmed the release date and given that they already pushed back the game a couple weeks it's a good bet.

No one can be 100% sure of course, and things can change.

Though going by evidence seems a good bet.

I think Friday would be the ideal day, give you two full days to submerge yourself in it.
- Friday the 13th would be bad luck.
- Friday 20th and 27nd too close to the release date for us to get properly excited.
