Note: For the next fortnight while this competition runs, no edits to your profiles are allowed, it must remain the same throughout, editing it will also result in disqualification

Rules:
-You must look at every profile that has entered the competition, if you cannot do that then please do not vote :bow:

-Contestants may advertise the contest, put it in their signatures and put in links to this page, however all competitors are to restrain from asking for votes, bribing or any kind of persuasion to vote for their own profile, or anyone else's, any attempt to persuade people to vote in a certain way will lead in an automatic disqualification.

-Non-contestants are also encouraged not to influence other peoples votes after or before their own vote.

-This is a contest to judge the profile, the work that has been put into the profile and how much you like it, it is a contest to show appreciation to one of the finest profiles in the whole of the org. refer to the profile instead of a persons popularity or friendly acquaintance with you when voting.

-The poll will be open for 2 weeks.

-Contestants may not vote for themselves, voting for ones self will make the vote invalid.

-Submissions will be nameless, therefore encouraging voters to look at all profiles before voting.

-If there is anything i have missed out, then use your own decency and knowledge to decide what the answer would be or PM me before doing it.

-Some form of medal will be awarded to 1st place and runner up, whether it will be an under avatar award or a signature award is not yet clarified.

But I still have a question: I was thinking of posting advertisements for the competition, but not actually asking the people to vote for me. It is just that very few people visit the entrance hall, and therefore very little votes come in. I believe this should be legal. It is not biased at all, and the people who follow the link on the advertisement are equally likely to vote for any of the submissions. Heck, as I have said before, some of the people who I have asked to vote for me followed the link, and then voted for someone else. What do you say?

Otherwise, very few people are going to vote.

Just to clarify the competition HAD to be remade and i don't regret, while aemilius is still as popular as ever i can see a certain submissions hasn't had so many votes as the first time so at least i am assure that the winner won't have got that title through underhanded moves :balloon2:

yeah some are really god awful color schemes that i could do better than in 1 minute.
others look chopped/choppy.
marcus aurelius smeilius over there has a nice one. good color scheme for rome, very readable.

I think Administrators or moderators (one of the two or both) can view poll results, they also can discover alternative accounts, you could request an Admin to investigate that, I s'ppose.

When did you vote? I had three votes earlier this afternoon, that's what I've got right now as well.

Well, since everyone else is saying whom they liked the best, I might as well say whose profile most impressed me. Anyway, I though that other than my profile, Sir Beane had the most interesting colour composition. Rhyfelwyr had a nice profile, but it was slightly too bright for my tastes. I would have darkened the colours if I were you, Rhyfelwyr. That's just my two cents (or p'yat kopeks [five of Russian equivalent of cent/pence] - as we say in Russia) though. The rest of the compositions were as if deliberately made to destroy one's eyes. Elite Ferret's one was the only other OK one, and green was very relaxing and pleasing; however, two different shades of agree is not creative enough to qualify as a unique profile IMHO.

As far as I know, an awful lot of Junior Member restrictions are wavered in the EH. They have a lower flood control time for example. I presume that polls are part of this package of benefits.

I would say personally, that those that have spent the longest changing there profile, have the most clashing and less liked ones, because there either too light/dark, poorly constructed or engrossed in pattern.

I think in my opinion its generally profiles with colors that go well together get better votes,
they need to have a readable background otherwise people can't read a thing :sad2:
Also a nice decent Album and color schemes with are inventive and look good together
are the best looking!

Some unlucky profiles have awful color schemes that destroy eyes, ones that are too bright or have colors that don't go well together aren't going to get as many votes:no:

not quite badge, with only 10 places having 2 badges kinda seems to easy, I have made custom sigs though :laugh4: there nothing special, but optional, i put it in as 08 as it started in 2008 and allows a 2009 competition much sooner :beam:

Sorry to be so annoying, it is not the time delay that worries me but rather if I will ever get that badge. If someone could assure me that I will get the badge in at least a month or possibly even month and a half, I would keep quiet and wait, but the uncertainty is torturing me...

Sorry, I missed this topic for a few days and didn't see.

Nice ones 777Ares777. Do you have the large one without text, so it's easier to update it for next year? Perhaps the text could use a little tweak to make it stand out a bit more. We could also do it without text and add the year to the ALT (issue reason). That would be the same as the writing competition then and makes it easier to do it say quarterly.
