Yes, looks like it - I can't access it ~:)
Thanks for confirmation, i wasnt sure if it is just my connection or what....
They have just transferred the site to the new server last night.
Undoubtedly they are having teething troubles with either the hardware or with the configuration of the vBulletin software.

As Juvenal said it may be a temporary problem. I hope the site will be accessible soon.
Until then let's hang out here my fellow TWCers. ;)

So this is your last resort forum then aye? :whip:
actually not it kinda is, but i always come here to search through some guides and stuff... it's because right now i'm playing the mod that doesnt have a thread here...
This is a strange and scary place (shiver), especially to those accustomed to hulry-burly of TWC.
I was just looking at the debate about whether the Out Of Africa theory of human origins was ready to be overturned. Well, at TWC this would have included trolling, expression of entrenched positions, shouting, personal abuse and probably the handing out of several infractions. But here, the two sides not only wrote cogent arguments and remained polite, but actually acknowledged the validity of each other's points... it just isn't natural.

Aye and I also found something interesting for me here at the Org.
A babe thread... that isn't closed.. moreover stickied!

Try the Backroom. Once you've got used to that, you won't want to return to the Mudpit.

That's because the members here can be trusted to behave themselves in the spirit of the rules, written or unwritten, as opposed to the drama queens and line pushers at TWC.

twc seems to be more alive and updated more frequently, and has better smilies :laugh4:
The .Org member pool has always been more mature on average than the TWC one, that's its strong point.

...and moderators are not hasty to close otherwise viable threads?
If you're familiar with the Backroom, you'd realise this isn't so, and indeed moderators have much greater leeway here to keep their forums in the right spirit. The main difference is in members' self-restraint, which can be virtually non-existent among the trolling community in TWC. Here, for the most part, there is a consensus to keep oneself to the spirit of the forums, and to accept the axe when it falls. Probably to do with the more mature membership. eg. IIRC the average Orgah was 24 or something in last year's survey, while the Backroom, which is where the political discussion is, has an even greater average age.
Sod this forum discussion anyway, I'm off to the Babe thread.
Ugghh TWC down again.
Thank Thor god of Servers that the .org is reliable as always.

We have members who delight pushing the limit of the rules, much to the chagrin of our moderators. Thankfully though they are well-sensed and polite enough to do their line-dancing in the Backroom.

They eventually make their way to the Entrance Hall, don't they? I remember DevDave being a regular greeter in the Welcome thread.

Whenever a big name Backroomer has to take a time out, they normally stop by here to have a few ~ and hang with the newbloods.
The Entrance hall, much like the Watchtower, is left open to you should you wrack up too many warnings and need a break from it all. It's a way to stay in touch with the community despite passed infractions. If you continue to cause trouble, however...

There is much talk of the Backroom.
For me it is just a blank space, I am clearly not worthy.
How does one gain entry to experience its rumoured delights at first hand?

Go to Your User Control Panel > Networking > Group Memberships > Click to join Backroom
Go to Your Control Panel > Networking > Group Memberships > Click to join Backroom
To expand upon this:
Backroom membership is approved by the moderators who watch over that place. They can revoke your backroom status at any time should you choose not to play nice. They also reserve the right to deny you access in the first place if it is proven, or suspected, that you will join only to be a combative and hostile poster.
For the most part everyone gets in and is deserving of a chance, unless you give the mods reason to suspect otherwise.

Firstly, go to your "UserCP (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/usercp.php)" > "Group Memberships (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/profile.php?do=editusergroups)".
You should be presented with a list of a variety of groups. Select to join "Backroom" and then click "Join Group" at the bottom of the page. When asked to input your reason for joining, feel free to leave it blank.
After that, just wait for up to a week for the Backroom mods to allow you access. Once that's happened, you should be able to see the forum.
Hope this helps ~:)
Gah! Looks like I've been beaten to it!

It's a symptom of browsing the Org for too long.
Sometimes I feel the .Org isn't related to TW at all.
*Goes back to lurking in the Backroom*
For TWC guys wondering, the backroom is the org's version of the political mudpit, as andres rightfully says, the gameroom rules all, backroom is like a place do disagree on a topic, i usually steer clear.

No, our mudpit is a den of savages. It exists to provide the moderators with more hunting ground.
And TWC appears to be down again.
yup... i was just sending my post.... damn..

.ORG vs. TWC is an .ORG victory without contest. Here the jokes are funnier, the people are merrier and debate is progressive.

The mods have gradually lessened since M1 here though(but not the tools!), which is why the Org and TWC co-exist so well since they both have something interesting to offer.

In the future please refrain from becoming too political in the Entrance Hall, even if such things are done in jest.
