I picked up this 500 watt Klipsch 5 speaker surround sound system used, 11/2 years old, for a very nice price. I'm going to set it up in the pc room. Any tips on speaker placement from those familiar with a 5 speaker surround sound system? Due to space considerations I believe I'll have to mount the two rear speakers on the wall instead of placing them on the floor behind the desk to get the best out of them, but have no real experience with such a nice system. Thought I'd ask before I start punching holes; the speakers must weigh 5 lbs. apiece so it's going to take some substantial hardware to securely mount them. The sound is awesome and really contributes to the immersion factor in games & music.

5lbs? A simple wall mounting mechanism like those used for TV's will do: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/fuo/1034626775.html Just check sizes! (Or get really DIY-creative... :uhoh:)

Those old Klipsch 5.1 systems (http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/promedia-5-1.aspx) are monsters, man. Congratulations! You can't buy a new system that's noticeably better.

P.S.: Here are the purpose-built Klipsch wall brackets (http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/wb-1-wall-bracket.aspx) for your model. Don't know if anybody's still selling them, but at least now you know.
