Hi, i hope this wasn't discussed before... I was surprised when both in my Arverni and Aedui campaign the epirote king asked me for an alliance, to help him conquer Ak- ink and another town... I guess this rapresents historicall events, but i havent found anything on this subject anywhere...
Did the post Pyrhos Epirote king really had interest so far north of their homeland? and did they actually asked gallic tribes for help? Who was the epirote king? who responded the call??
If anyone could enlighten me on this i would appreciate it

Doubt it. I think this is just AI diplomacy.

Pyrrhos was one of the first Hellenistic Kings to actively recruit Celts in his army. They were the driving force in the defeat of Makedones in Aoos river battle, which ceded all of Western Makedonia to the king of Apeirotan (genitive plural of Epeirote in ancient dorian greek Epeirote accent). They were the ones who looted Makedonian graves around Pella and Pyrrhos was publically accused for that. I think it is fair to assume that there was deffinitely a relation between Pyrros and his Celtic allies.
As Epeiros FC, I am thinking of ways of furthering this in EB2.

Oh, so the proposal doesn't mean anything specific? Becouse it happens over 20 years aftery Pyrhos death
It means you get an alliance, and also you get some spawned support when you attack those cities. We cannot control that they will stay around after spawning though.

Thanks Bovi.
But why did the EB team do this? Did the Epirote king really propose an alliance with the Gauls?
sorry i'm just confused why this is in EB:dizzy2:
Epeiros asked the Gauls for help with pacifying the tribes which were raiding from the north. As you know they were quite busy on other fronts. At least, that's the reason I've gathered from the game.

Wow, this is fascinating. What other scripted events happen in EB, other than the obvious reforms, the spawning of the Brits in Europe, Yuezhi, and the changes in diplomatic relationships due to the conquest of certain cities? Anyone know?

As Carthage you are asked if you would like to get a greek strategos to train your troops. However I had my savegame bugged and I dont really know what this does... ?

WHo is a good general...? And what triggers this?

Is a Spartan general (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xanthippus_of_Carthage) with a spartan bodyguard.
Supposedly, he reformed the Carthaginean army after the 1st punic war, and avoided an early conquest of Carthago by Rome.

Researching!
Studying!
Being more EB-ish!!!!
Remember the license agreement you signed when installing the mod?
Anyway, here's a more fitting source for Xanthippus. (http://penelope.uchicago.edu/Thayer/E/Roman/Texts/Polybius/1*.html#32)
Here too (http://penelope.uchicago.edu/Thayer/E/Roman/Texts/Diodorus_Siculus/23*.html).

It's the general's name, though I don't know if it means anything.
From the advisor dialogue it seemed to hint that the event is triggered by doing heavy troop recruitment (i was building my first large stack from scratch around carthage), which gives you the option of recruiting him to lead your army. He's a good general, just note that his bodyguard are spartans, not cavalry.
Other scripted events I come across have been the common "this important city has been attacked, we should do something" events. I'm sure there are plenty of other events to find though. :juggle2:

Europa Barbarorum licence.
Upon using the mod, you agree to read more history.
Heh, thats bull man.
No, seriously now. Is there any way i can see which events exist in the entire game, and what possibly triggers them? I would really like to know.
Raw experience might be an answer, but playing as Epirus for example i never had this "Gallic-Epirote" stuff popping up.

First to all, CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS to the EB team for this excellent mod.
My question is about number 8k. Is that alliance available only for Lusotana (sp) or any other, Aedui maybe?
The thing is in my Aedui game, I put some troops near Numantia but the advisor only show a message about war with the lusitanians if I keet going, but noting about celtiberian alliance. The city was still Eleutheroi, and I was at war with them by the way.
And second is there a way to ceasefire with Eleutheroi.
Tanks in advance.
