View Full Version : What Rank?
What rank generals have people got to in the campaign? I've seen posts by people saying they have gone above 6, but i've never seen higher.
Just played a little bit of my current campaign as Takeda. Takeda Shingen has just died of an illness in the year he won his 60th battle and is still rank 6. If you can go higher, how many wins do you need? How does anyone get in that many wins with one general before he dies.

thats easy, what you do is let you gereral have and entire army of well equppted worrior monks and the high qulity naginata and just run around japan and conquer province leave provence next turn conquer other provence and leave dont worry if the terrotoy is taken over, and make sure you have heirs, ive gotten a level 7 damiyo
Six is the highest I've gotten I think.

Level 8 is easy when cleaning up the Ronin maps...something like +96 will do it, it's not that hard really especially if you auto-reslove the castle fights http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Had Shoni Sakemoto of Shimazu and Koriki Kiyonaga of Imagawa both get to rank 6.
Final phases of my campaigns I like to share the wealth so my generals all end at least enough to get the +2 (so rank 4 I believe).
Black Ship:
At 8 do you get a +4?.
Seem to recall there's a site or a post around from a while back laying out how many victories to get what level.

Pasting my own post from another thread:
Quote It's the good old binary sequence, depending on the number of battles won minus the number of battles lost.
1 = rank 1
2 = rank 2
4 = rank 3
8 = rank 4
16 = rank 5
32 = rank 6
64 = rank 7
128 = rank 8
256 would be rank 9, but this is impossible as the counter only goes up to 255. "It's a programming thing."[/QUOTE]IIRC I've had rank 8 (Oda Nobunaga vs. Horde). The honor bonus is indeed +4 - it's the rank divided by two, rounded down. The game claims you get a "small" honor bonus from rank 1, but it would have to be less than +1, and there's no evidence about the game recording fractional honor, anywhere.
