Minor sound problem?

When the English units are marching, you can hear the drummers (very cool). My problem is it makes my speakers (and headphones) crackle very unpleasantly. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yup. Had this problem too, whenever there were drummers active the sound became unstable.

I had the same problem, maybe its sound drivers or one of the options.

I only seem to get this problem when I zoom close to a unit with a drummer.

I only get it bad close up to the unit as Divine Wind said - but if you can hear the drumming faintly, you can hear crackling faintly...

I get this problem also, which is annoying becase eveything else worked fine. :2thumbsup:

Same here, sounds fine from a distance but when you zoom in there is a slight cracking. I tried to change the sound options in the menu and my computer made a cracking sound and then went to blue screen, I figured it wasn't worth going to blue screen again just cause of the small cracking sound; especially when everything else sounds fine.

Me too, but my sound 'problems' start as soon as the intro with the ship plays. Comes on and off, crackling, plays fine, crackling again etc. Extremely annoying. XFI sound card with latest drivers, no sound problem in any other game/application.

I get some sound problems too. Well at least it is a wide spread problem and hopefully will get fixed in the first patch.

This is such a common problem I imagine it will be fixed for the actual games release. It had better be seeing as every unit seems to have a drummer. :laugh4:

I haven't noticed the drummer issue, but I may not be getting all the sounds. Is there a voice at the beginning explaining the battle? All I have is a scrolling overview of the battlefield with no commentary.

If you're talking about either the ship battle or Brandywine Creek, then no, there is no voice. There is voice for the tutorials, though.
