I don't think you can destroy those buildings without a CTD. If you're having trouble keeping a settlement under control, just exterminate it.

Okay, then build up your population. If its a huge city, then you can't do anything about it.

well, i have city mod 5.1b installed for this purpose so i won't get stuck with barbarian huts. i guess i have to reach city status or pop. 12,000 to upgrade them. they are large town now.

Hey, thats cool, didnt know there was such a mod. I never liked to see barbarian cities inside my cool roman empire. Care to give a link to the mod?

Buildings that change strat-map appearance (palace, roads, farms, walls) cannot be destroyed without causing a bug.

Once a city gets to a level, there is no way in making decrease in level or change the cultural appearance of the town while keeping it the same level.

If your towns are Large Towns, get them to 6,000 population and you'll be able to upgrade them to Minor City.

All the towns are large but some towns I had rereach the pop. of 6,000 and no option to upgrade to minor city because it has already had the holds of that level in the town before I conqured it. I guess the next step is next city level at 12,000?

That shouldn't be. If you are Roman, you should be able to upgrade it to Minor City no matter the level it was when you conquered it. Can you upgrade cities in Italy when you get to 6,000?

yes i can. i just can't upgrade those in spain and gallic unless it don't have the 2nd level warlord holds.

OP: You need modify EDU and scripts and descr_strat, remove all "hinterland_" text, i.e. rename building "hinterland_farms" to "farms"

Since a building name may be referenced in many places, it'd be better if you get some search+replace tool to scan all *.txt in EB directory, and backup everything you modify. It's not a simple task unless you're a modder :sweatdrop:

PS: walls and core buildings cannot be destroyed, and destroying roads doesn't downgrade the real roads on campaign map.
