Galatians ?

hiya does anyone of a mod with the Galatians in it ?

The Galatian gauls are represented in EB. They are not a playable faction though. You can recruit their units (which I think are very similar to the rest of the Celts/Gauls in the Balkans) in Galatia (Ankyra). :)

As far as I know, there are no mods that have the Galatians as their own separate faction.

It's easy to play them without mods, though. Since when Ankyra revolts it automatically goes to the Averni. You could just play as the Averni and wait for Ankyra to revolt.

thanks would there be a way to make them in to a faction by takeing a other out? could i do this myself

Yes you can, however it would be tedious and time-consuming. I don't have any expertise in the area, but I'm sure Hax would be able to help you.

It would be no problem to make such a "mod" (it would be no mod, but only playing as the Arverni, who have only the city Ankyra, and nothing in Gaul). But as far as I know Pontos has more Galatian Troops available than the Arverni, I'd RP it with them (you can change the colour of Pontos...)

everyone's "Allied Armies" minimod (link:https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=112813) enables Galatian Elites for every faction, so you can still play Averni (barbarian cities, barbarian interface,...) but you can recruit these guys:

Once problem with the Galatians is that if you use a European Keltic faction to do a migration, you won't necessarily get their full roster. Many European Keltic and Galatian units share the same models and a faction can only get one or the other. I think there may have been some work into giving equivalents for the Keltic factions, though.

I'd like to know wich galatians i can recruit with the seleucids and ptolies, i dont really understand what the RV tells me.

You start up the RV.

You chose Seleukids.

You click province Galatia.

You go to "view" --> "Province Details"

You see which units you can recruit there as Seleukids.

Repeat for Ptolemaioi.


You can then select native or regional MIC and do the same as above, than you will see that, for example, with the Seleukids you can recruit Galatian shortswords and Galatian heavy spearmen with your native MIC's, while all the other Galatian units require Regional MIC's.

So would it be better to make a tipe 4 gov in ankyra and a tipe 1-2 in Amaseia to get all the troop tipes as seleucids?

There is a RTR mod: Extended Realism Mod, or ExRM, which contains Galatians as playble faction...:idea2:
I do not know of EB mod though...:cry:

Somewhere around 10-12 units IIRC. (Though it may be possible you can't get them all at the same time due to the regional/native MIC system.)

Yes, many of them are pretty badass too. The heavy infantry never fail me, ever. They hold their own against pretty much anything. Their heavy calvary too, they pack a wallop and are the equal of any eastern calvary, while theyre standard light calvary is decent. You can also hire the naked fighting men, and we all know what those can do.
