My world is shattered (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWh6UZGF-FM)
I'm not angry, I realize pork is part of American politics. I also realize that most elected reps think we really don't care.
I realize any sort of revolution is one that is going to be filled with racists or hippies. Peoples whom I both loathe.
I also realize that even in Texas murdering your congressman is still frowned upon.
And for all my complaining my life probably won't change that much, R or D, Stimulus or not.
However I have felt underrepresented my whole life. In State and National politics. Texas only comes to the forefront when we kill retards or minors. We have a larger GDP than bloody India! Give us some credit! and locally San Antonio only comes up when those Mexicans get uppity. Ya know the same city that preserved culture when those dumb rednecks were causing ruckuses in The east.
While I entertain the idea of secession I am well aware that it would be ROFLCOPPTER EPIC FAIL.
I mean I could just make money and care about my family but thats burying my head in the sand.
I could try to make a difference but then I become a pompous wind bag, who goes to San Francisco to speak in front of a whole other bunch of pompous windbag and afterwards we talk about our immigrant housekeepers to prove how "progressive" we all are.
I just want to be a cowboy. :wall: I have all the clothes!!!!

You guys are/were more obsessed with Obama than some Obamaniacs are.
Pols say things to get elected they never intend to follow. Pols say things to get elected then realize it ain't gonna happen. Pols say untruthful things to rally the nation to a stimulus, a war, a brain dead lady on life suppport, more or less regulation, gun control, birth control, emissions control, on and on and on because in their pea sized little brains its okay to BS to get the support if the end result is positive, with each and every politician of course having a different meaning of positive, but quite often too much $$$ and job security are included in that definition and not enough best interest of the nations is.
You think you are disappointed now, SFTS, I would hate to see you in 6 months, bro. Cut yourself off from the news for a few weeks, especially the pundits, and go do something fun, worthwhile, or charitable, because things aren't going to change and the people who lead the nation are always going to be looking to get their ticket punched. Obama was a liar. Bush was a liar. Clinton was a big liar. Bush was a liar. And yes, even good ole Ronny and Jimmy were liars. I could go all the way back to the 1800s if necessary.

Not to sound overambitious, but I've been toying with the idea of getting some like-minded people together and trying to do something about this whole situation. Form a political party or something. It probably wouldn't go anywhere, but at least it would be something.
I realize the old Reform Party is pretty much kaput and Ross Perot is a joke, but there are days when I turn on the radio on the way to class and think that I have more respect for goddamn Orval Faubus than almost all of them.
At least he had the balls to make a stand on something, even if it was in support of racism. The most our current batch can apparently do is legislate chimp possession.

The problem with the reform party is that it turned into a party. The balloting system for representatives was ancient, full of loops holes, and highly exploitable, which people did. There was a serious power grab, they got too wound up on a "platform" and not wound up enough on getting terdheads out of office.
Democrats and Republicans in office, from washington down to the state and city levels, do whatever they can to stifle third parties from getting any sort of media coverage and ballot inclusion. The typical argument is that it would be too burdensome for the election system, which is a total crock of crap considering all the other things they are happy to waste time and money on. And I'm not just talking about pork and appropriations, but the huge staffs, trips and events these people do that are paid for with taxpayer money. We pay for all of it.
Obama probably has the most undesirable job on the planet and surroundings right now, poor guy has to deal with the massive expectations from silly people and the cold hard reality. No we can't.

I highly highly doubt that the U.S presidency is the most undesirable job on the planet.

This is a sore subject with me.
I have said before that the only time they tell you the truth is when they are calling other Politicians liars.
When someone spends millions of dollars to get a job that doesn’t pay it back, you can rest assured they don’t have your happiness in mind.
Until we get another way of choosing candidates and a trustworthy system of counting votes it is not going to change.
You could pick 500 people off the street and they would do a better job than who is there. But they aren’t dumb…it is the people who believe what they say that are dumb.
:shame:
Well, you're all wrong, he did bring change, after all, the American president changed from Bush to Obama. If that's not a change you can believe in then....you must still think Bush is president...
At the same time you could ask what discussing political matters on a gaming forum really changes so we're all political Don Quichotes anyway. ~D

Excuse me...I'm looking for a windmill around here. Have you seen one?
OOOPS!
Sorry about that, I never seem to get the "carry" grip on this lance correct.

I'm sorry, I thought this was the thread where we were supposed to be earmarking extra money to send troops to south Texas.
