Seems to me, it is more the reviewer himself e.g. his interests in the game. Michael Graf (the mags reviewer) is a real fan of the TW-Series, so he has more to say, show and to criticize unlike other, more action and fps-orientated guys?

A post with screens would be nice for those of us like me who are not willing to download a couple of 40mb videos, in a language we cant understand, on a replacement laptop that cant run large video files witout maxing out the cpu capacity.

Easy there Greyblades. Marten isn't required to get you any of those stuff (especially since it doesn't look like an English version has been released yet). Patience is a virtue. You could also check the review thread for Eurogamer's review.

Ah ok. Yeah finding it at this point would probably take longer than waiting for Empire to come out next week.

It's too bad Vista doesn't run MTW. I'd love to have Shogun and MTW on my desktop as well as Empire, just to compare how far the franchise has come.

Game looks unreal. I don't remember ever seeing a Strategy game looking this good before.

Thanks for the links Marten, it looks like CA was telling the truth 100%. From what I've seen in the land and naval battle videos the action looks much more smooth and polished than what I witnessed in the demo, a good example of this is the melee animations in land battles. Looks like the demo really was old code, I have to admit my blackened heart had its doubts!

The campaign videos, despite not knowing a bit of german, actually make me a lot more anxious about the game. These next five days are gonna be rough. :skull:

Tell me about it. Wednesday is a long way off when you have videos and screenshots like the one's we're viewing.

Based on what you're saying about the demo most likely being old code, do you see anything gamebreaking? We have that thread going about a "friendly fire bug" - do you see any problems?

About :58 or so into the factions video, look at the north america minimap. There is a splotch of color (indicating a faction) in the far west. I thought all of the territory out that way was going to be impassable and such.

Seems like there are a lot of territories with 'impassable' terrain surrounding them. I think it's actually the case that the terrain is simply empty, but not impassable.

I really hope inner north america is going to be blacked out and discoverable like in medieval americas total war, other wise that is a very large empty expanse...
