When you board an enemy ship and successfully take it can you then use it in that same battle? I know it goes into your fleet eventually I only ask because I haven’t managed to take a ship without immediately ending the battle.
Also my last time I tried to board a ship they merged and the masts kept collapsing it was very strange

I think you can only use a boarded ship in your next battle.

No, you get it in the campaign map. Presumably if you win the rest of the battle
I've taken a few ships, and it seems that you do not get to control them in the battle in which they are taken.
Hopefully any ships that surrender in the battle end up in the hands of who wins the battle boarding or not.
I wonder if you have to pay prise money to the ships involved for taking said ships... that could get expensive.

Well thats to be expected as it is a waste of time to transfer crew in battle when they could be used in the capturing ship. If they tried to use a freshly captured ship they would be defenseless while they figured out where everything like gunpowder and ammo are. Welcome to the ORG by the way Bscssc. :2thumbsup:

boarding ships in the demo seemed kinda useless since you lost your current ship and the crew. Plus the ship you boarded cant do anything.

Well it is mostly pointlss in the demo, but in the actual game it will be a great way of stealing ships and technology :2thumbsup:.

As is said above…Ships which strike their colors and surrender should belong to the winner of the battle, even if they are not boarded in battle.
I surely hope that that is the convention. Otherwise you need to sink everything to prevent the enemy from regaining it…

Agreed. It's not like you would give surrendered ships back to the enemy if you were in a bitter war for naval supremacy. The crews maybe, but not the actual ships.

Can you really steal (naval) technology by boarding ships?!

If the ship is equipped with advanced technology you do not have…you learn it from the ship.
So don’t loose your steam powered or rocket ships!

I hope we can scuttle ships rather than have them fall into enemy hands. I want my technology to stay with me and my allies!
