Play.com frequently deliver faster than they say they will. Thay give you the 3-5 days figure so you aren't expecting it sooner. :2thumbsup:

People here do realise that if your in a Euro time zone you can't play till Wednesday even if the game does come tomorow?
I just don't understand steams logic in only allowing activations which correspond with the correct release dates. After all a lot of company's actually end up delivering packages a day before release date.

Well it looks like Steam botched the early downloads!

As long as they don’t manage to foul up the activation its all cool!
I would have thought Steam set up the early download date…it isn’t like it was a surprise and no one knew the game was coming out…
Some on has a serious case of rectal cranial insertion…I can’t see where it is CA that is at fault…they set a release date…all the shuffling and jiving has to go on Steam’s head…

I was under the impression that CA just made the game and Sega was the one who figured out things like launch and download dates.

Unfortunately there was a problem with my payment on Play.com otherwise they would have probably already delivered it. Now I'm impatentiently waiting for them to process my payment again. The wait is killing me! :2thumbsup:

Unfortunately yes. If you bought a boxed copy you cannot play until Wednesday, and there is no way around that. :no:

There was a time long ago, when you may have a game store have a game a week in advance and be able to buy it, or even a day. But after all the lawsuits now unless you find some no name story in germany your outta luck till tommorrow at least.

Game messed up credit check so had to re-order. Now on the 2nd time the credit check took 16 hours and so won't be dispatched today even though they gave me free next day delivery so will only get to play on thrusday.

I sent amazon a e-mail to tell them I was most displeased UK and germany got it on 3rd and I didnt get it shipped till 4th.

48 hours and Play.com hasn't rechecked my payment yet. It just stays at 'Order Placed'. Looks like I won't be getting the game until Thursday to Friday. Maybe even have to wait until next week. *shudders*

I got an email from Bestbuy yesterday stating there was a problem with my order, when I called it was to inform me it was backordered and if I wanted to keep my order, I said sure. That's the first time I've ever had a pre-ordered game, go on backorder.

I assume empire is selling very well though can't confirm or deny that with any kinds of facts.
Finally got told today that my package is now in my city. Today, the 7th, at 7:11 am. Though it still says March 10th for delivery date. So either they are just going to hold my package for 3 days, or I'm going to get it 2-3 days earlier then I thought. I'm expecting the former, but hoping for the later, we shall see. :2thumbsup:

Lol cleary you work with a faster pc then mine.
I was at lunch for 45 min and though the bar was full I got mixed signals.
It said Preparing Local Cache or something like that on screen but when i went into steam box I got a message stating Installing Game.
I am on disc 1 still, so I assume it will take the whole night. (Because 100mb download, will take the whole night.)
Still I have the disc and am hopeful that come either late late tonight or morrow I can play to my heart's content :2thumbsup:

Well I am little disappointed with amazon.ca it happened with CIV 4 release not getting the special edition. I was patient for the game and made the mail order with some other things. Just got an email from amazon that the order is backed up because of a wait for Empires. :furious3:
I have the option of canceling Empire and they will ship the rest. The only thing is in my rounds around the local stores I didn't see it on the shelves??? :wall:
I am not in a big city centre but there is EB Games and other like stores. I know there was a delay to Canada but I am sure my fellow Canucks are playing the game as of this weekend???

Canada is having a LOT of problems with ETW. Many arent shipping, many can't activate and many more simply can't connect to steam servers...

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, Fisherking. I ordered from Amazon, standard shipping, package was shipped the evening of March 3rd and I have not received it yet. Today I stopped at Walmart to pick up a few items and there it was on the shelf. Somehow I managed to leave the store without buying it, but it wasn't easy. :shame: delayed gratification is a :daisy:.

Usually when I order from Amazon and use standard shipping, $4.98 US, it's delivered by the USPS instead of an independent carrier. Every other package has always been delivered in 3-4 days. Today is day 7 and we are not amused.:whip: delivery time is inversely proportional to the desire of the deliveree...
