Yeah, yeah, I know, it probably is not worth the paper it is printied on . . . but buying strategy guides is sort of a tradition with me, and in lieu of being able to read real manuals like they had in days gone by (I had as much fun reading the manual for Great Naval Battles: North Atlantic as I did playing the game), its the next best thing.
So, does anyone know if there is going to be an E:TW strategy guide this time around?
I bought RTW's guide. Completely useless. Just the stats you see in-game printed out.

How is that completely worthless? Much easier to read a manual or guide when sitting on the throne.

At the official site they have it listed as “coming soon”.
Too many things seem to be falling through so your guess is as good as anyone else’s.

If I have time and there is demand for it, I may do one. It would be faction by faction though.

The .Org has offered many wonderful faction guides in the past, from MTW -> M2.
I've seen no reason to suspect we'll be changing that, do you?

Is there an ETW guides section up? I have that area off my viewing list.

This game definetly needs it's own strategy guide section. Similiar to MTW2.
What might also be good though, would be a AAR section, so when people want to write out the stories, they can :2thumbsup: (and add photos if they want)

We already have that (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=37). ~D
We just haven't set up a redirect under Parliament, like other forums have yet.

No...see...that's what I mean.
I have to wade through Rome aar's , shougn aar's, poorly labeled aar's.
NO I say....I say no :whip:
We need our own ETW AAR section, just for ETW or there shall be riots in the streets :smash: (of the net...you know those net streets :laugh4:)

I'm trying to write a decent Empire Total War guide, from my own unique perspective. Progress is being somewhat hindered by the fact that I don't have the game. Things could definitely be going better. :shame:

Well, not that many people care, but I heard back from Brady Games and "Sorry, our Empire: Total War Official Strategy Guide was cancelled."
Actually, I am quite dissapointed; the Rome Total War guide I aside, I quite enjoyed other TW strategy Guids (MTW, RTWBI, M2TW), and not having a guide for ETW is actually going to lessen my enjoyment of the game a bit. I may be weird, but I often enjoy reading about games (in the sense of strategy, historical background) almost as much as playing them, not to mention sometimes I'll see the M2TW guide on the shelf, randomly thumb through it for a few minutes, and be inspired to go play the game.
C'est la vie . . .

But, at least you aren't struggling with the bugs and CTDs! :laugh4: ("Always look on the bright side of life.")
