I must say I'm disappointed in the custom battle option. This has always been my favorite part of the game. All the games from Shogun on up had it right...I don't understand why they changed it now.
Problems:
1) Small map selection
2) Can only change money supply indirectly (small, medium, large) In this case even on large money you don't have enough to 'pimp' (pardon my word choice but wth) your army out.
3) I can't see anywhere to make one side defense and the other offense.
4) No way to deploy cool stuff like: earthen works etc.
Anyone else notice this or have a suggestion? Am I missing something?
P.S. Also a little glum about unit selection. While there was repetition in prior games there seemed to be enough unique looking units. Why couldn't they make the other factions more like England? They have all sorts of cool units (i.e. Blackwatch, Coldstream etc.)
Anyways, I don't want to be too down on the game. I played a couple custom battles: one sea and one land. And I must say the land battle showed solid AI. I was roundly defeated. :)
