Anyone got any little tweaks that they need to make the game improved a touch.

1. Being able to order my units within my campaign map stacks.
2. On the post battle screen the specific name of the regiment (what you have named them) shows up rather then generic 'line infantry'
3. On the post battle screen units that haven't gained a rank do not have a --> next to them, merely a dash.

That's all for now :) Having a great time of it so far.

You can do 1.

What do you mean about the first one?

You can just ctrl-click as always.

I don't mean selecting them and moving them independently, i just mean in the order in which they are placed within the stack, their marching order so to speak not selecting mulitple units? Or am i doing it wrong.

Oh. Why bother?

Anyways, they are in the order you added them into the group. It doesn't affect your gameplay whatsoever, except for which unit gets the captain...

Because it annoys me. Also they aren't they will go their own way regardless of how you order them into the stack

Weird.

As far as I know, the game is hard-coded to make the general at the head of the stack. No idea how to change that.

That has been a requested feature in every TW game I can remember :)

You can change a stacks order by having units leave and rejoin. Just control-click the group you want (ex; All your line infantry) and move them just next to your main stack, then have them join again.

At least, that's how it worked in MTW2 and Rome.

That is how it worked in the old total war games :) But in Empire, it no longer does this, they re-order themselves automatically.

I also like to sort my units cards.
Generals, then infantry, then horses, then Archers, lastly arty.

Rather then starting a new thread... Can we change this ourselves in a txt file anywhere? (I do realise the title of this thread should be un-nessescary tweaks :P)

Also does anyone else have a limit to when or how they give a unit a title? I have been giving my regiments a name when they reach 3 chevrons :)

It would be nice if the generic names given to units we're nationally based. (instead of me having to do it myself because im obsessive compulsive like that)

For Prussia for example (using WW1 conventions) instead of 1st Regiment of Foot it would be

Infantarie-Regiment Nr. 1
Dragoner-Regiment Nr. 2
Feld-Artillerie-Regiment Nr. 3

Just a little thing, but would be nice.

I name my regiments when they reach two chevrons, and usually base it on whatever hell they went through to earn them. My Line troops who help but down the rebellion in Berlin were called the Berlin Boxers. And the guys who beat the Cherokee at incredible odds? 1st and 2nd Cherokee Tamers. Lame, I know, but it was 1 am. I'll sometimes name a particular unit after their general, too, if they've been with him for awhile.

After I get a little more into the game I'm sure my naming will improve...
