Random Crash

Gah, I got to about 1750 odd as Netherlands but, for some reason, I am now getting a crash on Swedens turn (we are at war) and may lose my campaign!

Anybody else get a "ETW not working" error?

Great game though, I'll write up my own thoughts at some stage.

EDIT - It is NOT my computer, garuntee you that, it is brand new. Just before anyone says that its my setup =)

I am playing the game on my old computer while my new one comes in the mail. The game crashed everytime I ended a battle with Poland (I was Prussia). I could fight other people and the transition from the battle to the campaign map is smooth, but if its Poland, it would shut down and give me the same error message. I am hoping my new rig wont have this problem, we shall see.

I was just plaing as Prussia. I was going to manually attack West Prussia (they only had 4 firelock armed citizenry) and got "insufficient video memory to run game, terminating"

Kind of bullcrap because A) My gpu has 768 mb of memory, and B) My settings are a mix of highs, mediums, and lows - nothing on ultra.

I am having many random CTDs as well, on the campaign map. All I get is a 'Empire Total War has stopped working'. I have seen many people complaining about crashes that seem to be related to other nation's turns, which means this should be fixed soon, hopefuly.

I have fixed it, well I say fixed, by removing my army from the University I was garrisoning and the turn seemed to complete just fine then and has done for several more turns, so for some reason it had a issue with me garrisoning a town (with a college/iuniversity in).

I have only had it crash once due to insufficient memory, restarted and it ran fine, will report that too.

I got that, I was highly surprised saying insufficient memory due to 4gig of ram and a gig on the gpu. Though, I got that error after playing it straight for 10 hours... It could be a slightly fragged build up that occurs over time, don't worry, just reload the game from the last auto-save, that will fix it.


Nothing beats my revolution crash though, I won the revolution as Prussian Rebels and it keeps crashing.

Mine won't end turn either. It ends with the french (who are at war) merging to fleets together.
