Okay I'm going to post without any punctuation at all and sometimes skip integral sentences too is that okay anyways if your mac cant run medieval then it defiantly (???) cant run empire byyy
Why would or how could anyone sell a pc in order to buy a Mac? Something’s not quite right here?

Some people are deeply in love with macs. And some people don't agree with me that ipods are trying to take over the world. But those people are all crazy.
Actually, you have 'mac' in your name, are you a crazy evil killer ipod lover?

well, in the same way how a rebellious ork would defy anarchy and join the stormboyz, a rebellious geek would defy Bill Gates and sell his PC for a mac.
I meant that the used-selling price and new-cost differential, one for one, simply does not add up as worth the effort. That is unless, we’re talking about either end of the Spectrum.

Macs are in fashion nowadays...
Some people looks at the shape and thinks they are cute, real users laughs when they see the price they would pay for outdated hardware.

c'mon face it, sluggaboyz or stormboyz, as long as they WAAAGH!!! thery're good boyz.
The same thing applies to Macs and PCs.
Actually my mom works at apple so she gets tons of deals and free software. But I like the pc but my opinion don't count.
Ps. I'm actually typing this on my iPod touch.

This is one end of the Spectrum. But that's still not a reason to sell the PC, unless we're talking about a, 'True Believer.'

Simple: She doesn't want her offspring to become intellectually dulled out by spending too much time with video-games. I've seen it happen to me when I was still a local offspring; quite a shocking process to close observers: First, the facial musculature loses definition; features become blunt and the whole skin acquires what I commonly call "monitor tan".
Then, the eyes become rather sluggish and the victim tends to ignore anything outside the central 25° field of view. Shoulders sagg and the neck gradually moves from atop and between the shoulders to a position close to the top of the vertical chest bone.
At this point, interruption of any kind, even for the purpose of offering tasty, *warm* lunch/dinner prompt severe rage, which is at first kept in check by the conscious desire to maintain status-quo appearances. This desire gradually becomes less conscious until the victim wonders why they are bothering with such pretenses; at this point parents begin to suspect that something might be out of the ordinary and consequently ask questions. This is perceived as a very invasive, hostile act by the victim, leading to (more or less, depending on the level of regular discipline exacted by the parents during initial education) open conflict and irrational or warped-out-of-perspective argumentation by the victim.
The parents find their suspicion profoundly confirmed and, depending on inventiveness, budget and the severity of the hostile reaction of the victim during above mentioned inquiry, take according action to prevent further deterioration of their offspring from what they consider a sane state of mind.
For instance by getting rid of the mindblowing evil machine.
Mac has paedagogically more valuable games like marble blast gold...
Or maybe she didn't like the Hellenes' theme...?
It could also have been the eastern charge sound.

On a more serious note, to adress the OP,
depending on the hardware of said MAC, you might try
- installing Linux on it and running WINE (windows emulation) which will however severely impede performance but might enable you to run EB - maybe assume roughly half the system's actual hardware stats to allow for the amount of capacity drained by the cumbersome process of translating every single action going on into windows-terms. It's like running an application within and application within an application within...
Only here it's BIOS, binary level, operating system, second operating system, application. Or something like that. The second operating system on top of the first is the only way to get the hardware to behave like different hardware.
- in case it is a Power Mac or even more modern - just install Windows on it... I hear the processors are no longer really different.
- abandoning video games, they make you lose reality and tend to worsen school marks. Severely. EB is the *only* exception - and even with EB it will get tricky after you have consumed the historical facts data and begin re-fashioning history to your own preferences. Claiming you led the Getai out of Roman oppression will get you some laughs from your mates and a reprimand of your teacher, reminding you that that happened in another part of the world during a much earlier period with a different people.
But if the less serious part of this post has some truth to it, the mom might object to any but the last option... And disguising a multi-OS setup seems like a tough task...
Either way, I wish you good fortune in your endeavours. :lam:

PC = Games
Mac = Development
Linux = Networking
You could just triple boot or VMWare the Linux. I mean, Macs run on X86 now, there's no good reason why you can't dualboot Windows.

I play EB, M2TW all with max video settings etc on a 2 year old 24" iMac using a bootcamp partition with windows xp. For everything else I use MacOS. I have had windows pcs and will never buy another if I can help it.
Anyway, to the OP, you can indeed play games on a Mac (and they look great) but you need to bootcamp windows. For this, you need a windows install disk: the bootcamp part is free with the MAc OS. The process is fairly easy to follow.

The idea is to buy the PC (far better value for money in terms of the hardware) and dump the Windows in favour of a different OS. If you want Mac OS ... the money you save by not buying a MAC can easily more than compensate for having to buy the OS separately. (I mean it: Apple sells some of its consumer hardware with a price tag of enterprise server kits.) Although I got myself Kubuntu 8.10 and upgraded to 9.04 instead (all for free).
I love it when people slag off Microsoft, and rant on about "Fighting the big evil corporations" and "They only want my money"...
And proceed to buy a Mac :laugh4:
If you're that anti-business, go Linux. Although I dislike Macs as much as the next (smart) guy, I do like iPods.
If you're antibusiness go BSD.

NNOOOOOOO!! What have we done...!?
We have resurrected the greeks vs romans thread in another dimension, disguised from those who were able to heroically slay the groman thread with the new front-ends of Apple and Microsoft...!
The heroes cannot fight what they cannot see.
We have created a monster!
:wizard:
But it is more dangerous than the groman beast, for it has a third head, an as yet unknown faction, the BSD-mainframians... From the super-adriatic cloud-island of BSDeia, they descend upon the two contestants for glory while they are aggressively engaged to the point of being oblivious to their surroundings, alternately prodding their balls from behind with a loooong ethernet-cable. RIGID CAT5, with switch attached. *ZAP*
I truly hope we won't have a MS versus apple versus linux versus BSD thread, otherwise it will make any gladiatorial show pale in comparison...
As I posted, why would or how could anyone sell a pc in order to buy a Mac? Something’s not quite right here? This was a rhetorical question followed by an obvious statement, now that this has run its course.

Hey, don't take my last post too seriously, CmacQ! :clown:
I was merely amused by the slight similarity the nature of "greeks vs romans" arguments and the nature of "pc vs mac" arguments have: until they reach absolute academic level, they are a matter
of personal opinion and can thus be carried on ad absurdum. Which I think is a great lot of fun anyway. But I felt like sharing my amusement with the other readers/posters on this thread. I did not mean to offend or criticize you in any way. In fact I mentioned alternate operating systems myself in an earlier post...

:laugh4: I like your german...!
To reward the effort - here's the usual grammar-conform construction of that sentence:
"Mein Herr, ich nahm keines Weges Beleidigung oder Kritik wahr."
Dear sir, in no way did I perceive insolence or criticism.
or more closely aligned with your english text:
"Weder war ich [in irgendeiner Weise] beleidigt, noch nahm ich Kritik wahr."
Neither was I insulted, nor took I criticism true.
took...true ~is roughly equivalent to~ did...perceive
So it amounts almost literally to
Neither was I insulted, nor did I perceive criticism.
To make it something to write down in case opportunity arises to use it, here the precise phrase:
Ich habe [an Ihren Bemerkungen] keinen Anstoß genommen.
I have [at your remarks] no offense taken.
The bracketed part is interchangeable depending on the context - maybe it was not remarks but a speech or whatever - but the twisted position of the parts of the sentence is actually the usual one in German.
... I feel like I just seriously highjacked this thread
