I personally like my peanut butter crunchy.
Your turn.

Crunchy! Smooth is a bit like eating an amalgam of slugs and superglue.

I like both, but prefer crunchy.

Crunchy! Smooth is a bit like eating an amalgam of slugs and superglue.

And crunchy is like that, with a bit of oily wood...

This is one thing about US food I will never be convinced is edible. I mean, it sucks the saliva out of your mouth somehow... And yet manages to taste warm and salty... Not for me.

And this is a man who's not too finicky about what he puts in his stomach. Hell I ate off street vendors in Nigeria...

Smooth, crunchy is nasty.

You don't eat it on its own, you spread it on an apple or something.

It's like Nutella but more nutritious.

Ditto for me. There's something about crunchy peanut butter that's just so....wrong somehow.

Either/or for me, variety is good. Salmonella? [Googles]. Ah. Hadn't heard; good to know.

Either works for me now. I chose smooth on the poll since that's the only kind I liked growing up.

I was shocked when I learned people in most countries don't eat peanut butter. :laugh4:

The Salmonella scare hit a bit close to home. I checked and our peanut butter jar was indeed one of the ones that were listed as bad, we pitched it immediately. Thankfully we hadn't got too far into that jar, and neither the Mrs. or I felt sick at all so we were lucky. Bleh.

You can't make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with chunky peanut butter. That's just nasty.

a completely inoffensive name

in the UK we have peanut butter, but it isn;t mentioned as much as you USA guys mention it, it's O....K, but I haven't had it in like years so I can hardly remember, smooth over crunchy though naturally :balloon2:

Definitely crunchy, preferably no-stir. You gotta have the texture there for it to work, just like the pulp in orange juice. I also can't stand restaurant-style scrambled eggs and most of their mashed potatoes. They just whip them up till the texture is all gone. Bleagh!

Smooth as possible. Delicious on white bread. Great for cheap college meals. My last two breakfasts, in fact.

Peanut butter in Europe is different... it tends to have those little red skins around the peanut involved in the affair, and the oil tends to separate.

American peanut butter is more like Nutella... though not as sweet, and a touch more salty.
