::gah2:

"Freedom to work" - the :daisy:? That "freedom" is guaranteed in every country :grin: And notice how when the flick talks about "all races and creed" the camera centres around a stunning, Caucasian blonde... Now that is political correctness at its finest :laugh4:

How about freedom from propaganda that blatantly over, over-simplifies an issue and turns your mind against that issue without offering any rational arguments? I wonder what was the purpose of that animated short? Satire is the only thing I would do with the video. Heck, it makes America seem bad :no: Shoot, even Soviet propaganda was better than that *bleah*

Except that the USSR is dead and gone while the USA is alive and well.

Quite an intelligent argument there. I suppose the better quality of US propaganda was indeed a decisive factor in its "victory" in the Cold War. No way the T-72 and the nuclear missiles could stand against US propaganda. How could they? What is amusing is the fact that you are basically reaffirming the fact that US makes superb propaganda by your post. That is always something to be proud of. Are you a Yank by any chance? Oh wait, of course, your locations says so. But besides that, I can almost always tell an American when I read one posting. Americans, strangely enough, always seem to want to be better in everything, even in such quite unsavoury things as torture and propaganda..

Gah! Seriously do people always have to make this connection whenever one says something was better in USSR? This is getting ridiculous. Oh well, I did mean that post to be provocative... I wonder if rvg was baiting...

Baiting? Not at all. I am merely stating a fact. The Soviet system imploded despite its nukes and propaganda.

I, for one, am glad that I never lived in the Soviet Union. Communist regimes were the most brutal and inhumane ones to ever rule on earth.

Of course you were stating a fact. Just at an odd time and place. Quite peculiar I find it that Americans always rant about how much they "pwned" USSR and those dreaded commies at the slightest mention of Soviet Union. Just like people instantly react to Hitler, swearing on their mother's soul that the guy was the worst the world has seen, that they hate them with all their heart. Sort of an automatic reaction it is. Yes, it is. Quite curious...

Well many in my family have this sort of grudge against the USSR and Nazi Germany, mostly because one of my grandfathers fled in haste from Soviet Occupation after WWII and his relatives suffered from persecution just as much as they did under the previous regime. It's something that made such a wide impact on the world that no wonder 80% of the guys you will talk to had some distant relative involved with it. And popular resentments can prevail for centuries.

Oh my God!!! Nothing we have ever heard about! Did you visit my profile and follow the link to what I am currently viewing, BtE? You do realise how childish and "interruptinarry" your post sounds? As if you just followed the link and posted your automatic reaction.

Heck, this is craking me up sooooo badly. Literally, I am laughing on the floor right now. I was just babbling about the automatic reactions of people and *wham!* comes a perfect specimen to illustrate my example. As if Fate and God themselves joined hands to make my day better!!

Indeed, the USSR and Holocaust were two dark pages of our history. Sarcasm aside, the two things were indeed bad, but that is not a reason to shove how terrible the holocaust was every second of our lives. For 6 grades straight I have been learning about the Holocaust in my American school. Holocaust in Reading classes, Holocaust in English classes, and now Holocaust in History classes. Every class has its own Holocaust programme. We even skipped WWI and II to study the "glorious" Holocaust in one of my History classes. Same with USSR. People are so obsessed with Stalin, they fail to see the other side. That is all they see, brutal dictatorship under Stalin. I mean, USSR was no peaches n' cream, but it was not Dante's hell either.

Gah!Gah!Gah!

AP, I'm following randomly the forums. After replying to this I'll go to the Frontroom.

Who are YOU to criticize my posting habits :clown:?

And yes, it's a truth that is repeated ad nauseam but a truth nevertheless. Many pressure groups find them a reason for victimhood complexes today, though, and that's bad.

That is precisely what I suspected, as voiced by my previous posts. Now get out!! Your posting habits, the spam, sickens me. I went to the last refuge from spam, the Backroom, only to find the spammers trailing me. First Meth, and now you. Y'know, I suppose I will go into the Invisible Mode, as annoying it is. I have no other choice.
