View Full Version : A very odd M2TW dream

Perhaps this better belongs in the Citadel, but the whole thing was just so....weird that I couldn't help but share it with you guys. Already many of the dream's details have faded, but here's what I remember:

It was a bizarre amalgamation of Medieval 2's battle engine with "real life": I dreamed I was the castellan of a small European town (I think it/I was French). I was in the central keep, when a messenger came running in reporting that a band of Seljuk warriors were trying to break through the main gates.

I hurried out to the walls where the attack was taking place. After observing this for a minute or two, I went back down to the ground, where I then led a sally of my men (on horseback) and chased the Turks away from town, but was unable to actually capture them. I was still satisfied they wouldn't return, however, and went back to the keep.

After several hours had passed, I suddenly heard a noise. Exiting my private chambers, I discovered the Seljuks had somehow sneaked their way into not just the town, but the keep itself! They were ransacking the main audience chamber, indiscriminately killing men, women, and children as they came across soldiers, servants, etc. I still have the image of dead bodies strewn about the place....and what's odd (well, odder than the rest of the dream, anyway) is that some of them were wearing modern-day clothes. :inquisitive:

It was around that point that I started waking up. The last thing I remember from the dream before I became fully awake was my leading a small group of survivors out of the city to try and find help.

And that's it. I have no idea why I had this dream at all, much less why the (first) battle was from the Total War game I spent the least amount of time playing. Nor do I have any clue as to why I was the French, the invaders were Seljuq/Turkish, nor how I had no idea that an entire company of turban-wearing warriors managed to slip into the city unnoticed.

This is definitely one of the strangest dreams I've had in a long, long time.... :dizzy2:

I have experienced it, Martok. I've had a weird dream about the (ending of the) battle of Manzikert. I was on the losing side. I was (relatively) close to the Emperor whilst being surrounded by the Turks. He was shouting, trying to encourage his troops. Amazing.

It's been a while since I've had a good TW dream... probably because I've not been sleeping much since Empire came out. :beam:

Last night I dreamed about Seswatha again but this time it was different. Celmomas was there with me watching the battle unfold as Wracu burned everything and hordes of millions of Sranc crashed into the shield walls of the shining steel-clad men. The No-God began his descent, but instead of stopping him Celmomas merely murmured Who am I? I turned to him and said My lord? What are you doing? but then he continued to gaze at me and ask and I begged him Please, Celmomas! Use the Heron Spear! Nooooooooooooo! and then he didn't and it was too late and Mog-Pharau consumed the world.

Anyone who knows what I'm talking about will receive a thousand balloons. :balloon2:

I've had MTW2 dreams before. It creeps me out when it happens, though. :sweatdrop:

Can't say I remember any of them well.

I've met people who would say it meant you had a past life in that time period. :clown:

Actually, I've not played *any* Total War games in over a week (and even before that, my time spent playing TW titles had been extremely sporadic the last couple months). Last time for me was two Sundays ago when I fired up Shogun and played through several seasons in my Shimazu campaign.

I had an EB dream too... but that was just the side effect when you're playing too many games... you will start dreaming about your game...

and I had many of them in my Highschool, dreaming to play as CT... (used to play Counter strike without cease...)

I have dreams about video games often, mostly about EB and Fallout 3 recently since those are two I play right now. This this bad?

If it doesn't have to be M2TW dream heres mine.

I was reading some random book when I heard a strange roar. I immediately realised somehow that the Zombies were coming. I ran away but they were far too many of them. So rather then running, I decided to fight. I grabbed a shovel and worked my way towards the hospital which I live next to. I ran in there and found out that there were lots of refugees already from all over the world. The door was fairly secure but it was only a matter of time until they break in from the front door...

Also my concern was upstairs. I was for some reason scared that zombies could be roaming around upstairs. So I ran up with my shovel. I heard the door banged close and Jack Bauer came down saying "Clear!!" along with his crew.

So I had a brief chat with Jack about the recent situation. There was zombies banging the front door and Jack told me that we should get out of here. Its not safe.

Jack told me to use my ability to get out of here. I used my ability to manupilate wind and found out that there were infact over 50 zombies rushing to get the door open. So I focused and caused a strong wind outside, chopping the head off everysingle zombies out side.

Thats when I woke up.. My heart was beating fast. Strange thing.. I shouldn't be scared if I had a Heroes like ability to manupilate wind and had Jack Bauer standing on my side..
