Very laconic; how Spartan of you :laugh4::clown: Perhaps this (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=101745) thread could be of help?

Anyway, why don't you get Alexander? There is already an alex.exe community on these forums, so you will have much support. Not to mention alex.exe AI is much smarter IMHO.

Yes, you need to install the Rome total war Alexander expansion.

I have a question - is it possible just to redirect the shortcut to BI.exe (with or without the renaming of "\eb\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign" and "\eb\data\text\imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt") in the middle of ongoing campaign?

In other words is there a way how to switch to BI.exe which would be savegame compatible?

The reason is that I have a well developed campaign which I do not want to abandon, but I seriously miss naval invasions (however dumb these may be). I am not interested in other BI features (like shieldwall etc.) nor I have ALEX. Thank you in advance!

The normal switch to the BI.exe (via ferromancer's mod) is savegame compatible. Night battles wont work on ongoing campaigns (only if you start a new one with the BI.exe), but since your not interested in the BI features, that should be no problem.

Yes, it is. I'd also delete map.rwm to regenerate map information (not 100% sure whether this is required or not).

I think you will find EB a lot less frustrating on BI or ALEX.
