It's turn 72 of my Russian campaign, and the only two states that have attacked me unprovoked were Georgia and Dageistan.

There have been some scuffles with the Ottomans, but they were happy to capitulate when I sent an army to sack Istanbul. I traded it back to them for Greece.

Most of Europe seems to be getting along just fine, too. Genoa hasn't taken over France yet, although France is engaged in an apparently rather pointless war with Britain (which seems to consist of a British fleet entering a French port, then getting kicked out by a French army...over and over for the last few turns.)

So, aside from some oddities, I officially hereby do grant my blessing to ETW's campaign map and grant it pardon from its other issues, on the understanding that CA plans to fix them at some point :tongueg:

I'll agree with that, smaller nations never declare war unprovoked. The Crimean Khanate did when i was playing as Poland-Lithuania, but they had a huge army and actually made some progress before i threw them back and wiped them out, but to be fair, it's believable and realistic that a smaller Islamic nation from that part of the world at that time might try and grab some land from a country that's at war with 3 other European nations, 2 of them neighbours.

I actually have found this to be on the contrary to my experience. When I have a city with relatively light defenses it seems that only the small nations attack me unprovoked, at least Denmark and Courland both did when I was playing as Prussia.

I've had unfriendly or hostile nations declare war, like Austria when i was Poland, Russia when i was Sweden, France/Spain when i was GB... but for the most part indifferent and friendly nations have never done it.

i would assault their capital city with my half-army, but they have a full stack there, so i will wait a bit.

Yeah ETW is a pretty good game, amd will rock once the bugs are ironed out :2thumbsup:.

Small nations only seem to go for you if they sense an opportunity to attack. Scare them into being peaceful with forts along your borders :2thumbsup:.

Diplomacy is definetely much better than in M2TW, I still have nightmares about the Genoese war-machine and its xbow-fuelled conquests into Dijon and the rest of France. As Britain, only Spain and France have declared war on me, two nation whom I would expect to challenge me.

Well, I had a weird oddity where France declared war on me about 4 different times before I finally was able to wipe them out as the UP. :shrug:

I would love to forgive ETW but I cant even play a GC.

I seems that I CTD when I press the GC button. I reinstalled 3 times, trashed all my RtI save game files, and tried using a program called CFF Explorer suggested by TB666. Still here I sit with no world conquest going on,

I love all the TW games. This one looks like the best of the bunch, and i want to love it but it just wont let me :cry:

I had Savoy declare war during turn 20 during my Great Britain long campaign after I conquered france (and every turn they tried to send a unit of cavalry to raid my towns).

Giving gifts works, too. I had some extra cash to toss as dutch and wanted to establish trade with westphelia, who always snubbed me. after a few gifts, i got my trade route

The Huron Indians declared war on me in 1704 when they thought England was a pushover lol, well now their ghosts are all thats left of them. I think I'm going to conquer Hanover tonight when I play!

Got the same problems in my Russia campaign
Georgia is specially irritating cause they are so weak but wont budge and inch lol...but it was a good way to train my soldiers to obliterate Persia in a few turns YPA!

I still think that ETW is still far from what it could be.

The huron always want beef, and they dont know when to give up either. Rather gobby for a nation of only 2 regions, they still have one region left in my game but only because i have better things to do than go and take their final region which resides in the middle of nowhere! :inquisitive:
