I just noticed Steam's updating ETW again. Anyone know why?

I saw it also but couldn't find patch notes or details.

Yeah I saw that, no idea yet why.

However I hope they fix sommet soon, my game now crashes constantly and before it never did.

Going.

Out.

Of.

My.

Mind.

probably to fix those with the german version.

So why's it updating non-German versiona too?

Hooahguy

maybe its also a hotfix for another bug found in the patch before it?

Maleficus

Hmmm....

Well, I'm sure they'll tell us one day.

Don't know why it updates all versions, but the german version is working again now!

But it didn't fix my missing trade details in my prussia campaign...

Ardri

So I take it the speculation that it was a German version update is correct.

Thanks, I thought it was just me.

Maybe it's a patch for the other patch. Because to be honest the second patch has actually managed to make my game significantly more unstable than it was before .

I haven't launched the game since Sunday, so I don't have the patch(es) yet. In light of these problems, would you guys recommend turning off Steam updates before the next time I launch the game, at least until this is sorted out? It's been running fine for me except 1 or 2 random crashes, which happened when Steam popped up a window for some reason.

Maleficus

I've had no problems at all before or after yesterdays patch. I haven't loaded it up since the newest one, so I'm not sure about that.....

My British game is worse now; if that is possible.

I've just had my first ever CTD.

Grrrrr..... Etc.

Jeez, calm down. How many releases have you been through?

Phog_of_War

Hope it fixes my problem. I CTD whenever i try to start a Grand Campaign. I am reinstalling for the second time in as many days.

Yeah, this is strange. After the first patch, things started to crumble for me. Campaign map scrolls kinda jumpy, whenever I click a unit/city/port whatever game pauses annoyingly like it didn't use to.

And now I got my first CTD as well. Reboot and the same happened when trying to click one unit (navy in a port). :wall:

Hope they'll solve the first patch with the second patch (and the second with the third, Jeez).

Even tho this is a bad example.

When i played Star Wars Galaxies, Sony Online Entertainment, always seemed to break more in the game with their patches than fix. Kind of worrying if you ask me.

Now I know CA is no where near as incompetent as SOE was but I pray that this is not a situation that repeats itself ad nausem.

BTW, I still CTD when i try to start a Grand Campaign. 3 seperate clean installs, tossed out all my save game files, did the CFF Explorer fix posted by TB666. But the RtI works just fine, odd.:dizzy2:

Are you refering to this one or is there another one after this one.

Ardri

There was another update but no notes were released on it as far as I can see. Most ppl are saying it was for the German version of the game.

I'm still waiting for the vaunted Delete Save Games feature to be in a patch.

It can't be that hard to do.

I had a screen shot of it updating, but I didn't save it. Yeah, I got a message on about downloading empire total war, which changed a couple of settings which I did which happened this afternoon.

Why not just go to

C:/Documents and Settings/(User)/Application Data/The Creative Assembly/Empire/Save_Games

then find the file you want to delete and do so?

Of course you can do that but it is just weird that CA did not include a button.

BTW, your sig pic is HUGE - and disturbing.

Have you clicked on the link and watched it to the end?

It's basically an advert for cheap car insurance. The meerkat says "Simples".

I said "Simples"

I posted a pic of the meerkat who says the same thing I said.

Instead of a mercat, we have a gecko for one of our car insurance companies. Equally disturbing i assure you. Oh and cavemen too.
