I encountered a strange bug. Sometimes, when i start a battle, i get a warning that says i have insufficient video memory. I find that hard to believe since i have a GTX295 with 896mb for each core (it is some sort of internal SLI). Are there others encountering this problem?

yup,once.
It was in the middle of my game and it ctd.

My video card is also on of the latest geforce so this could not have been the problem.

it is a memory leak, they are trying to fix it. The memory usage just builds up without any real need for it to do so

leave the game running overnight (even if you don't play it), start a battle and you will get the msg. it is clearly a memory leak.

Well I haven't had the issue since I side-stepped the Vista 2gb limit.
There is still a memory leak no doubt but I haven't had a CTD or the "out of video memory" message even after hours of playing.

It mostly affects sli users like myself, I can run no crashes in single gpu, but the game looks crap.

Jagged edges and shadows in this game are almost criminal, but I suppose they had to skimp on the clean graphics to pay for that cool looking water that the AI is afraid to travel upon :captain:

after using that cool trick by TB666, only CTD I get now is on episode 2 of RtI, it always crashes after turn 1.

Still have it, even after TB666's tweak. I hope it will be fixed soon.

But I"m not using SLI, just a single Asus EAH4870 1GB

Am I missing something from this thread? Where did TB post this fix?

Well I have only had out of memory crashes and this fixed it for me.
On TWC there are some more fixes that help some people with the same problem so the fix depends on people's computers.
As for the fix
http://www.highflightsimulations.com/ctd.html
Just follow the instructions, it's easy.
But you have to do the CFFexplorer fix everytime CA releases a patch since I notice that they always updates their exe-files in the patches overwriting your changes.
And as I said, can't promise that it will work for you. It worked for me and some others.
But it's a fast and easy thing to do and won't damage or destroy your game so it doesn't hurt to give it a try.

Edit: I suggest you follow my link since I forgot you had to do something in the command prompt.
Since I played Flight Simulator X the command prompt was something I did some time ago.

Well I did everything, and now I´ll run the game and try some battles...
