There is a topic in the Alchemist Lab regarding this mod for the mod.
However, after investigating it seems that to install this mod is to remove any singleplayer aspect from NTW.
Which is definitely a terrible idea.
Could someone please tell me otherwise?

I believe it is multiplayer only.
However, I've always found the battle AI (the reason I play the game!) has vast difficulties handling the capabilities of units in NTW 1.7.
I don't think I've ever tasted defeat playing the mod against the computer (& although not a TW virgin, I am certainly no god-like presence!). It can't seem to hit anything with its artillery & doesn't really know how to shoot effectively.
However, I'm quite interested in playing NTW online... Would you be up for that, Glenn?
(Open invitation to anyone who happens across this message, natch).

Greetings guys,
Found my way here through a reply of Glen's to one of my old posts. Thought you might like some info on 1809. It's not exclusively multi player. You can play SP no trouble at all but the dumb AI remains the same. With the graphics changes we made to NTW1 its much prettier in the way of accurate uniforms and gives you a hell of a lot more troop types to play with. We're in the process of jazzing it up even further.
It was primarily designed for multiplay. Most of the players are seriously into Napoleonics so accuracy is the prime concern. In addition to the added goodies we have re-done the stats so that everyone behaves as they should. There are no mythological units and we play some fairly big actions like Austerlitz etc with the original orders of battle. All these are available as downloadable files. It plays very differently to NTW. Theres no valour or modifications, everything is built in. We dont 'buy' units. we play with what was there. Nothing to stop anyone playing it the old way though. We design the maps for the historical actions and they are all downloadable. We don't use the NTW campaign. We run campaigns based on historical events with an independent game controller, much more fun and far more realistic. Some of the big 4 v 4's battles have been known to last a couple of hours or so. It's pretty much about manouevering for position and committing forces in a historical type fashion rather than the usual ' pile everything in and hope for the best '.
If you need any more info you can find us at:

If you consider multiplay we'll be glad to see ya.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer, Falkon.
Unfortunately, I must refuse both of you as I bought this game with what appeared to be an invalid CD Key - which can only be expected coming from a cheap backwater place as it did.
I do not mention it often because I was accused of illegality, and so I have not sought means of obtaining my god-given (purchase-given..) right to multiplayer.
I may try 1809, as I certainly will go back to NTW for another time.
But for the moment I have decided to try the MedMod and most likely return to XL TYB or Pike & Musket.
I thank you both!
