quick question about hosting

i want to ask a quick confirmation question:

i've never hosted a game before, so i want to ask does non-mafia games (similar to those like battle-royale) need permission or/and waiting to host?

because i'm thinking of hosting a small non-mafia/similar to RPG game as maybe a prelude to my small mafia game, giving myself a chance to get a bit of hosting experience

i've already started planning my small game, and if i can host a small rpgish game then i'll get preparing straight away
