View Full Version : Instead of having a specific part in history a TW sequel... (such as Shogun)

I think our next sequel should focus on broad time periods. Medieval, Rome, and Empire settings were the most broad. We should NOT have our next sequel focused primarily on a less broad subject like Feudal Japan such as Shogun 2, or an American Civil War.

We should however with the introduction of theaters in Empire, simply make those less broader subjects with a similar time period to Empire an expansion. For example, I'd LOVE to see Asia as a new theater in the Grand Campaign as an expansion. Adding in Japan, Korea, China, and maybe :philippines: as factions. There's your Shogun 2 for 'ya.
An American Civil War? Simple. An Empire: Total war expansion to the 1800's. There's your Imperial Age, machine guns, and American civil war for 'ya.

'Desu ne? :san_laugh:

I hereby officially demand that the next Total War be 'Ice Age: Total War'.

You would be in command of a group of hunter-gatherers, there would be little to no fighting and most of the game would revolve around building up your mammoth farming estates.

Also, the currency would be teeth, and would be directly related to your birth rate.

No, I think it should be Cambrian: Total War, where you can fight as the carnivorous arthropods, with the most powerful weapons of its time, but compete with each other, or trilobite, who can ram the arthropod factions with their superior numbers.

I think I played this, you used clubs to kill Elephants, and your villagers said words like "Humanadakas"

It was called

Age of Empires :laugh4:

Anyway being on topic... Well being "broad" doesn't limit to history on earth. For example an LOTR: Total War would really work.

How about 'Sol: Total War'?

Start out as a microscopic dust particle and build yourself up into a full-fledged planet! Battle the other planets for mass!

You want broad? Try 4.6 billion years broad! :gring:

An Empire: Total war expansion to the 1800's.

Agreed. Here's what CA could draw from:

Barbary Wars
Napoleonic Wars
War of 1812
Greek War of Independence
Russo-Persian War
Texas Revolution
Opium Wars
Mexican-American War
American Civil War
Franco-Prussian War
Anglo-Zulu War
Boer Wars
Spanish-American War
Present trade theatres could expand into actual regions. New theatres such as East Asia would be introduced.

I really would like a return to Ancient Rome/Greece. Triremes, anyone?

Napoleonic Wars

We know this one is coming, the devs have all but officially stated it.

I do prefer Kingdoms, as fun as it would be to just have 1800-1850 added to the grand campaign I don't think they could do it justice without it feeling repetitive. So I think the small single campaigns are the best way to go.

We will probably get 4 or 5 if I had to take a guess they'd be

Napoleonic Wars (They always mention Napoleon in Interviews)

Civil War (They will probably add England, a Native American, or some unknown faction into this as CA hates two faction only struggles)

Anglo-Zulu War (Already have africa why not the rest)

Russo-Persian War (Just for something different and more factions from India side used)

I don't think that they will include Asia, I think it's just far more likely Asia will be it's own seperate TW title.

Also, we need the Texas War for Independence/Mexican American War. After playing some for battles, there is some real potential for recreating Bexar, Alama, Mexico City, etc.

Plus, it would still fit into the (very end of) the horse and musket period.
