Trying to unload an army onto the Cherokee nation (Georgia), but it won't let me..
??
I've selected the units and clicked on the land, and it says it can't do it..
Sometimes the game is really finicky about where you can and can't unload troops from ships. Try moving your ship over one space and trying again. I've run into this a couple of places, especially some of the islands in the Caribbean, but normally just moving the ship over a bit solves it. Hope this helps you out.

I've tried unloading them ANYWHERE, including my own land (Bahamas)..
No go..
You just highlight the army units, and R click on the land, right?

There should be a disembark option, in port at least. Are you getting the "disembark" button? If it is your normal cursor, that means you have to move it closer to the shore.
I don't think it matters if you have the navy or the army highlighted as long as you are near the coast. Also, you have to move the navy first. So if you are next to your island and you load the navy, then you click to disembark the troops on Georgia without first moving the navy they get off back onto the island where they loaded. I still think it may be an issue of the ship being in the wrong spot or just not being able to find the right spot to unload them. When I invaded Georgia I had to ask GB for military access to land in their territory and march down on it. Like I said earlier, the game is really finicky about where troops can get on and off the ships.

I have had the same problem as well. I just keep going up and down the coast trying to drag the army off and eventually it works. I am not sure how factual this is, but I am pretty sure I have better luck if I click on a unit and hold the button down and drag the cursor over land and release (I wont release until the cursor type changes to show that the unit can be moved) than actually clicking the unit and then clicking the land. I hope my explination makes sense:dizzy2:
you have to be near the coastline and slowly move your mouse along the coast till you get the disembark icon. that or go to another porn and disembark there along with full move points.

I have to agree, p is so far from t on the keyboard.
The best advice I can offer when doing a naval invasion is to land in a port; ports are guaranteed to have the ability to (dis)embark units.
p is so far from t on the keyboard.I take it you meant n is so far from t?

Looks like someone is distracted by something that begins with "t"!

Ok, I SLOWLY dragged the cursor over to the land, after repositioning the ship again, and it worked..
:dizzy2:
Thanks.. :)
Glad you were able to get those troops off ships! Maybe the difficulty is to encourage ppl to use the ports to unload their soldiers. Maybe it is CA being genius in implementing realism without telling anyone that is what is going on.

Alt+A. Drag all units to the land as long as the ship is close to land and all of your troops will disembark. Easy.
I have had a similar problem but only on a few rare occasions. I solved it by taking the port and disermbarking through the button there.
The game is so full with flaws I can't believe they had even one tester.

One other thing I discovered, :idea2: after going through the same ritual as everyone else ("Not possible, sir." "We're a naval unit." etc.): if it's close enough, you can have the fleet target a (coastal) city! Once you get the "target reticule" cursor and use it to select the city, the fleet sails to the nearest coastal point and dumps out the troops. Odd UI, but nice timesaver.
