Now this is probably down to my age, I am 34 you know and I remember when this was all fields, but I am having trouble keeping up with all the name changes going on. I see a post and think, oh look someone new and then I see the join date and recognise the posting style and the wheels turn a bit more and I realise somethings not as it was.

Is there any way we could have a post of artists formerly known as or something along those lines? I have a hard enough time remembering my PIN numbers without keeping track of name changes.

Maybe a stickied frontroom thread where everyone who's changed their name could have the option of listing their various alias'?

Hi seireikhaan, welcome to the Org ~

EDIT: What? You joined in 2007? Oh, you're greaterkhaan, makaikhaan and kamikhaan :sweatdrop:

All kidding aside, 'khaan's suggestion seems like a good idea, as long as it stays optional.

I know a certain someone that will dominate the list...:laugh4:

Sounds like a plan although it would work better if someone updated the first post to reflect subsequent name changes and to avoid having to dig through the thread.

In the absence of better people I could do it as it would only need a once a week refresh.

Yes, this is a good idea. It is extremely difficult to edit the Political Positions thread properly if everyone keeps changing their name without mentioning it.

Alternatively, you could also just hold your mouse cursor over someone's username. (You can try it out with seireikhaan and see for yourself.) ~;)

Yes, I got a similar problem.
Sometimes some of those noobs actually seem to know me somehow.
We also had a guy called The Stranger and I have no idea what nick he uses now, he had several others over the years I think.

Concerning khaan, at least he keeps the khaan so every khaan is the same guy, or that's what I usually assume.

I'm Husar and I was formerly known as Husar before I changed my nick to Husar, then back to Husar and finally to Husar again. :dizzy2:

That works only for moderators.

Speaking of which, you have ~60 posts to figure out a new nick. ~;)

Oh, no worries there, I already got it.

I've got to agree with Ja'chyra. A user name is not only a name but a visual cue as to one's identity on the forum (oft shared avatars don't count). When the user name changes, that person's identity changes in my mind unless I can (hopefully) remember the association of new name to old name.

That moderator mouse hover-over power would be nice if it does what is hinted at.

Yeah.

Can I suggest superkhaan? That works. Maybe Megakhaan

What about peverkhan?

I don't think he would like it though.

Oh hush, y'all. Y'all'll find out soon enough.[/iowa]

Can we get some input from Lemur/Hosa as to whether it would be worth a sticky to put people's alias'?

I'm a bit insulted that reenkkhaan wasn't used. Heck you could just transition the k - reenkhaan.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone remember someone who used to always end his posts with "GAH!"? What happened to him?

Krast is the origin of Gah!... Vanya also used it quite extensively...

Krast would be something like Gah! Krast cut heeds off to make head soup Gah!

whereas Vanya would make page long story's about being a headless horseman and the like...

I managed to make my way onto a poll when someone asked about it... but i was merely a copycat...

Gah! Krast! Gah!

Krast was into the multiplayer... with his clan dieing out, some problems with some players and tw mp going down hill a bit ... he dissappeared...

Less sure about Vanya think he played MP back in STW and maybe MI... but think he may have left not too long after....

Ah, the one I remember was Vanya! Though I see the legacy of Gah! still lives on.
