The description of these troops says their axes are good for killing armored opponents. However, "good against armor" does not appear in the unit stats display. Is it a bug or so by design?

Take a look at their EDU entry; both their javelins as their axes have the ap (armour piercing) atribute. So they're good against heavily armoured units.

Edit; gah, typos. I need a editor...

Okies. I was under the impression that the unit stat description actually is linked to entries in the edu file. I guess, it's not. At least in RTW it's not.

No sir, you need Firefox. It comes with a built-in spell-checker.

And as for the attribute thing, the EB Units List is an excellent thing. Illustrated and with a unit description, unlike the EDU. The stats are outdated, but the attributes are still the same. Just go to the EB Documentation folder, and you should find the EB Units List. It is "file:///C:/Program%20Files/EB%20Documentation/Units%20Documentation/unitList.html" on my computer.

They surely have this ability. In my current campaign (Maks) the Getae were bothering my Danube provinces and in one of the sieges I've attacked one unit of these guys with my Celtic client ruler. After that, assuming that the king's bodyguards will chew up that light infantry, I've moved my attention to other places. When I checked the volorix for the next time, he had lost half his guards and they were dropping much faster than they were killing, so I had to rush light Thracian spearmen to the rear of those axemen to save the governor.

Just as a rule of thumb, assume that everything with an axe or falx is AP. Consequently, know that if you send Heavy Infantry to the land of the Getai Itchy Dwarves, they probably won't come back.

Just be sure to get the dictionary add on for where ever you live, I'm an aussie and I kept getting told my spelling was wrong because the Firefox default is American English (we aussies basically use British English)

Sorry for the off topic post.

Not quite.
Only the Rhaetian Tekastos have ap pila, the usual Teceitos have standard non-ap javelins.
Both do have ap axes, though.

Are the Teceitos better than the Alpine Infantry? I was under the impression that Alpines have AP axes but I've only ever used them as static defense. Do they actually do damage in when they attack?
