Time Span for Each Turn

What is the time span for represented in each turn; months, seasons, years?

I'm getting ready to purchase the game, but I'm waiting for my next paycheck. I just want to know what to expect. And, more importantly, can the time span be modded?

Grand Campaign is 200 turns, 100 years.

6 month turns.

Don't know about modding it.

I haven't payed close attention, but I think the turns in RtI 4 are 3 months.

Thanks. I just came accross a mod expanding it to a quarterly sequence (seasonally) at TWC. Also, guys out there are moding this thing like crazy. It's amazing!
