Tonight with Mr. Charlie Gibson ABC will be showing "What is it about Texas" at 8 eastern. This show is about how Texas is still cracking skulls and how the rest of yall are moving here in search of work.
Ho-hum I say but I will be at work and do want the cliff notes.

Cliff notes? Let's just save some time and summarize it as such: "Texas is the awesomest in all the land." What else need one say? ~D
It's preposterous to even think there is such a thing in Texas as a crisis. There never was there never will be.

It's good to see the rest of the nation doesn't have to bail Texas / Houston out this time, unlike during Houston's economic collapse of 1985. :book:

Hmm, I think there is something very distressing going on here.
If I understand the Natural Law correctly, Texas ought be having an Economic Collapse that is Bigger, Better and far more Spectacular than anyone else?
Surely Texas can't be having a wimpy little recession, smaller even than France's?
:wink:
What if it crashes it's desert anyway. This crisis, I am not an economic but what crisis. And Texas, it's I mean, well desert.
Texas is way more than desert, Frag. Epic geography fail!
Anyway, I still have not forgiven Texas for Enron. Or Bush 43. Sure, Texas rocks, and my brother lives there with his wife, but I will not reconcile with the Lone Star State until they issue a formal apology.

How about an 11 billion dollar surplus? (http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Texas-Budget-Surplus-Makes-Legislators-Look-Good.html)

I'm not ABSOLUTELY certain, but I do believe that forwarding 5% of that surplus would constitute an adequate apology and that you would then have proto-simian google-fu powers on your side in addition to Texas' already magnificent repetoire of excellences.
I'll settle for a piddlin' 0.5% brokering fee and will NOT allow you to talk me into accepting any more than double that. I'm so selfless....:devilish:

I also have a high opinion of Texas, so much so that I prefer to think of GW as an abnormal case of gas (born of the same ill begotten spices as Lyndon B. Johnson). I like to think of GW as a Connecticut born, carpet baggin' Yankee blue blood trying to pass himself off as a good ol' Texas boy. Last I checked there ain't no steers, oil wells or ten gallon hats in Connecticut.
Texans should also consider that had their prodigal son not been elected to serve as President for two terms Obama might never have made it into the White House... :wall:
Above all I like think how much nicer it would have been have a President nicknamed Jeb instead of Dubya...

Montana isn't really hurting either, 1 Billion Dollar Surplus, and much, much, much smaller area and population than Texas. We also don't owe anyone an apology, and even if we did, we've got t3h bomb.

A COMMUNIST STATE like California is running a 16 billion dollar deficit because there concerned with a "Standard of living" (sic?) for the people
So all this teaches us is communism and socialism are evil atheist tricks to bankrupt us all.

Life Expectancy at Birth Texans born in 2005 had a life expectancy at birth of 77.5 years. Because males tend to die from more external causes (such as accidents, homicide, and suicide) and at younger ages than females, females had a higher life expectancy at birth than males: 80.1 years vs. 74.9. An Hispanic child born in 2005 had a life expectancy at birth of 78.5 years, while a white newborn had a life expectancy of 77.9 years. Black life expectancy remained below the average, at 72.7 years

* Asian men in California lived to an average age of 80, and Asian women lived to an average age of 85, with common causes of death that included heart disease, cancer, strokes and aneurysms;
* Hispanic men in California lived to an average age of 77, and Hispanic women lived to an average age of 83, with common causes of death that included heart disease, cancer and diabetes;
* White men in California lived to an average age of 75, and white women lived to an average age of 80, with common causes of death that included heart disease and cancer; and
* Black men in California lived to an average age of 68, and black women lived to an average age of 75, with common causes of death that included heart disease and cancer.
Seem to have similar lifespans in both states.

arguably the best marketing ploy any state has ever conceived, although it does make us seem rather morally and musically challenged.

Well, people gotta eat, and agriculture needs the one thing that Texas has plenty of: manure, especially :daisy:.
Seriously, though, agriculture and energy states are holding up better than most of the others. It's when the fed starts trying to fix the prices of milk, bread and eggs that we know the whole world is about to end.
