Unless the tickets include time traveling to a date set before 1996 I do not see the point of you being so happy about. :freak:
The group 'died' before you even had a chance to go to school. 5 years of waiting after Black Album and all we got was a bunch of money hungry short-haired Britney Spears impersonators. :wall:

personally, i like Death Magnetic. it goes back to the pre-Black Album era... IMO.
Concerts are awesome, especially when you're that close to the stage. I saw Mars Volta last year, and was about 2m from the stage. EPIC.
Awesome, nice one. I am seeing Metallica at the O2 this Saturday! Should be good and I think Death Magnetic aint bad, some songs are brilliant, some are angry ranty songs, much like St. Anger. Their shows are always good though, woot!

I love live shows, but man ... the ticket prices are so :daisy: expensive now. Some time ago, INXS was so put out by the ridiculous prices being charged that they bypassed the typical ticket sale mechanisms and only charged $15 a head. I thought that was quite cool. Wish more bands did that, as bands make a lot more money via merchandise than from ticket sales. It's primarily the hangers-on that profit from tix.
Out of curiosity, how much are these tickets costing now?

Heh, I was going to ask the same question. So cheap? Wow. I am stunned. Exactly how "front-row" are those seats?
Oh, and yes, what contest was it?

pity you couldnt go.
personally, i like Death Magnetic. James's voice is melodic, which sounds nice. especially in the Unforgiven III.

No general admission? :inquisitive:
and they call themselves a metal band.

James Hetfield has, perhaps, the worst voice I've ever heard. And if you notice-AHHH. His signature-AHHH singing habits-OO YEAH. Got much easier to-AHH spot as the years went on-OOOO.
Back in the old days his horrible voice didn't really matter since he managed to compliment the band's sound amazingly well. Now? It sounds like he's swimming upstream with his singing, for lack of a better term.

I personally think Metallica - once a decent band - turned into a marketing-whiny-piece-of-**** one, but hope you will enjoy it nonetheless :^)

oh, im sure i will.
metallica is one of those "tour monsters" (or s/t like that)- they go for a concert, make as much money as possible, then leave.
