a) Go to a doctor

b) Be grateful you do not have these (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_headache) headaches.

The degree of pain involved in cluster headaches is markedly greater than in other headache conditions, including severe migraines, and experts believe that it may be the most severe pain known to medical science.

(If your symptoms sound similar do 'a)' and hitting your on the wall actually helps)

EB. No matter what kind of pain I have, when playing EB, it always goes away.

Or you could do useful things and go to Galaxy Zoo (https://www.galaxyzoo.org/) and help classify galaxies for the benefit of the world scientific community. You can also go to the Free Rice project and pick a topic (http://www.freerice.com/subjects.php) to answer questions on. For each question you correctly answer, people in Africa get certain amount of rice.

I've had some nasty migraines but I won't take pills for them, narcotic or otherwise, so let me tell you what works for me; running. If I get on the treadmill and run a few miles it knocks my headache right out.

Of course it hurts like **** for the first 30-40 minutes, but if I can head off a 3 day headache with those few minutes of pain it's a welcome trade. Any kind of endurance physical excercise should produce the same result as it alters the blood flow in your head, I've read that swimming is especially good for this due to the lack of impact but you have to be in pretty good shape to keep up a moderate level of intensity swimming for that long.

Good luck.

Sleep a little, but not for too long; maybe an hour or two.

Otherwise when you feel better you will hate yourself for wasting precious time.

I can only run for three or four minutes before dropping from exhaustion. How do you manage?

See a doctor to ensure it's not something life threatening.

I had a clustre headache once. No idea why, and I barely remember it apart from going under the covers, screaming, running around under covers like a madman and denting the wall from headbutting it in an attempt to avoid the pain. Not fun. Well, it was probably just and extremely bad migraine, since cluster headaches seem to be chronic.

But yeah, take an Aspirin. They usually work, and don't really present any health risks, unless you decide to take the entire box in one sitting. Also, go to sleep. I wouldn't recommend you do anything else on the computer, since eye strain really won't help your headaches at all. Sleep is the best.

Oh finally indeed. I still have the occasional flash now and then and some nasty stomach aches, but it's not that bad.

Well to build your endurance run in intervals; run as hard as you can for one minute then walk for one minute, repeat. Helps a lot with breathing too, as a former smoker it was much harder for me to get my lungs in shape than my legs. Gradually stretch to running 2 minute and walking 1, then run 3, etc. You'll be doing 10ks in no time.

Intervals work fine for knocking out headaches too because your heart rate stays up, thus gradually altering the blood flow pattern that's typically causing the headache.

Ugh. I once had a terrible ear infection a year back. One night it was so bad that I couldn't sleep. I wasn't even able to read or do anything else productive, because with every heartbeat, my ears literally felt like they were exploding. All night I just paced around the living room constantly snarling, yelling, swearing, hitting myself, and beating up the couch.

Dude, when you're like that, you won't notice anyone. You would welcome it if somebody came and beat you, actually. Really, when I had a hyper-headache, I was completely oblivious to everything, and could only scream in rage of the pain, couldn't even pseudo-PMS at people. Too much PAIN

Really? Whenever I'm in a lot of pain and someone speaks to me or is in my line of sight I get murderous impulses and start snarling.

Super Market is completely correct.

In fact, in the short run, beating yourself is a relief, as it takes your attention away from the primary pain. But for anytime longer than a minute, you end up hurting in more places than you initially started off as, especially if you overkill the self-beating.
