Which versions? Did you reinstall EB1.2 and then used old EB1.1 saves or were the saves from EB1.2 too? Did you use other unoffical minimods for EB?

I had a similar problem some weeks ago. After reinstalling EB1.2 and loading the old EB1.2 saves the famelymember/clientrulers that were already affected stayed as they were (bugged), but it didn't happen again.

only been loading 1.2 saves, was running 1.2 before, no other mods, eb has been plenty to keep me busy so far. The only change was the reinstall to fix a crashing bug.

Is there an attribute editor or something so i can go in and take off the client ruler manualy?

ah figured it out. All non start position cities were returned to whatever governmental system they had by default, even though i owned them and had built other city tolkens. I can afford to demolish and rebuild the city tolkens, better than 40% decreased order.

Turns out by reinstalling the game the client ruler system was set back to eb 1.1 version style. Only one province can hire a new general (one on the SE corner of the pontic sea), and all old ones can only govern type 3 gov'ts without interloper penalty, oh well, just glad to have my save working again.

First set of compaigns lost with a hd failure, second set lost with the 1.2 upgrade, and 3d set with a gimped client ruler glitch. Oh well, still an awesome game, seleukia just about destroyed, pontos, koinon, and makedonia dead, rome is next.

Just got this with a new 1.2 campaign. I installed the upgrade patch from 1.1 to 1.2, started as Romani, and all family members got the recruited general trait on turn one. Any thoughts short of a clean reinstall of everything?

Edit: turns out this is an artifact of trying to use the BI .exe. No issue when run normally. Never had trouble with swapping .exe's before, but never had the 1.2 script before either

No it is the descr_strat (about all starting people have been awarded a new trait). You installed EB 1.1 for BI but it requires a bunch of files to be copied; and you forgot to apply this step to EB 1.2 as well.

Just used the 1.2 version of the EB for BI installer mod, which I thought created the copies needed, and the issue recurs. What should I look for in the descr_strat to confirm that it's a 1.2 version?

Family member. Or FamilyMember, more likely.
