my nominations:
The Trooper- Iron Maiden (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgqxQmAbTBc)
Disposable Heroes- Metallica (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUQz_eTe4kg)
I'd rather hear "Invaders" from Iron Maiden. I didn't like the approach they took on Piece of Mind at all. There's also "Genghis Khan," "Flash of the Blade," or even "These Colours Don't Run."
Delete and double post to reply in a much better form. I agree, The Trooper is an amazing song. Definitely good for field battles.
As far as contributing to the thread, I like to listen to a lot of things.
Malaguena Salerosa by Chingon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NIDoHWePQk) Is really good, from the Kill Bill soundtrack.
Kill the King - Megadeth (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff_Ex-GHGt8) Is great too, if you're in a revolutionist mood. Long live the king, I am the king.
Planet Caravan by Sabbath (also a great cover is done by Pantera) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H72-4idYFug) Is a great song for admin duties, it's very mellow as you would expect for a song suggested for the campaign map.
Can't forget Hangar 18 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtsD2tBPZgo)for battle music either. :2thumbsup:
If we're in the mood for revolution, surely we should be listening to Rush - Bastille Day (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23g9QLZpgIM)! :2thumbsup:
War music is supplied in plenty.
Black Sabbath brings in "Electric Funeral," "Children of the Grave," "Lord of this World," "Neon Knights," and "The Mob Rules" to name a few.
If you're going to fight in sunny lands, Tales of Brave Ulysses (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8hLc_nqx8g) by Cream is a must.
The Doors - Five to One has that revolutionary air.
Frank Zappa's "Willie the Pimp (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mq-HWKhnI-s)" is great bawdyhouse music.
The classic Hell March (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tb-gI_pFog0) by Frank Klepacki.
If you're in a jazz mood, Herbie Hancock's "Survival of the Fittest."
High on Fire is almost nothing BUT music to smash things to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89h-X-tZa_w
Mayhem Maybe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiGMffThj_0) by ol' Jethro Tull :2thumbsup:
Joe Satriani brings lots to the plate, "House Full of Bullets," "Crushing Day," "War," and "The Souls of Distortion" for a start.
And so on.
my nominations:
The Trooper- Iron Maiden (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgqxQmAbTBc)
So, next time your tactical sims don't do what you want them to, think of it as an "accurate" simulation of the Charge of the Light Brigade (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charge_of_the_light_brigade). :laugh4:
Does anyone have any links to .mp3 files of other music from the 18th century. For some reason, Iron Maiden don't set the right mood for me ...
'Mother Russia (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MAOLbylg8A)' from Iron Maiden is my favourite since I am currently playing Russian campaign.
