Hey guys...
A distant relative passed away and I had to go out of town for over a week and when I got back, I had tons of catching up to do. I've been away from the game since the March 10th patch (I think).
Anything I need to be brought up to speed on? Can I just start my game up, let Steam auto patch, and be good to go? Or is there anything new to download or anything considering I haven't played in a couple of weeks.
Thanks, always appreciated.

You may want to hold off on the hotfixes (turn your steam autoupdate off before you launch the game) - there are numerous accounts of CTDs resulting from having them - the first hotfix on the 25th crashed my land battles, the second hotfix on the 26th fixed this but now my naval battles crash. I didn't have either problem before the hotfixes.
The current workaround is to disable the sound effects in the options, but it's a total immersion killer for me. A new hotfix is planned, but I don't know when it's due.

Good to know...thanks.
What about anything else? DLC, etc?
Just wondering if I do let steam auto-update, will that bring me 100% up to speed. (Still relatively new to this whole Steam thing...but learning).

Yep,
Steam will auto update your game if you have this option selected.
I have updated and so far haven't had any CTD, but then I didn't before either.
I've just been playing my with my original campaign game from when the game came out and everything is working so far.
I am Athlon 64 dual core 4400 with a gt8800 2 gig ram Vista 32 prof edition sp1 if that helps, I know how frustrating it must be to everyone with a better specced PC than mine for the game to keep crashing, I had the same problem with GTAIV for about 4 months until windows live patched the game up so it would work with a workable framerate. All I can say is hang in there!

Yeah I didn't have any CTD's when the game came out either. /fingers crossed.
Thanks for the response.

I didn't have any CTDs before the March 25th hotfix either - I was happily able to play for hours on end, but after it my land battles CTD'd after the results screen - this was fixed by the March 26th hotfix, but now my naval battles CTD after the results screen. This may have happened in the March 25th hotfix too, but I didn't try any naval battles n the one day that hotfix was around. The current workaround (having effects turned off) does work for me in naval battles, it just makes the game experience a bit, well, soundless.
So not having CTDs before the hotfixes is no guarantee you won't have them after unfortunately.
Still, they have another fix on the way apparently - I'm happy to go along with it all really!

No DLC or anything though? I can just let Steam auto update and that's it?
I thought I read somewhere (thought) that there was some downloadable content available already. Something other than the patches and hotfixes.
Thanks
