I don't think you can. Make sure to move all your troops out of the capital so your rubbish little militia army doesn't have too much trouble.

Don't know if you know but to get to constitutional monarchy from absolute monarchy you've got to get your lower classes to revolt. After they win you'll be a republic. Then you've got to make your upper classes revolt to become a constitutional monarchy. It's a bit of a round about way but sort of make sense I suppose.

Its also the way it happened for England. Foo's.

As long as you keep that veteran army outside of the capital, it should be alright. But you won't be able to fight with it.

I think a Bourgeoisie revolution in absolute goes to Consituational.

As an Absolute, I was given to understand that if you get the Upper to revolt, you'll go to Constitional? I'll have to test!

An upper class revolt in AM simply gives you a new ruling family. Middle class revolt in AM gives republic

Middle class revolt in Republic give CM. Lower class revolts don't really happen in republic, but I would imagine it would be the other party.

Upper class revolt in CM gives AM. Middle class revolt in CM gives Republic? That one, I'm not sure of.

When I played Russia I did it the long way around the barn: Absolute Monarchy (irritate the peasants, then) Republic (treat the middle class terribly, then) Constitutional Monarchy. If there is some way to pass from AM to CM, it would be great to know.

Why do people keep saying middle class? There is no middle class in the game. There are only two classes, the upper and lower - aka Bourgeoisie and Proletariat.

If you would take a look at different governments and not be so agitated to respond, you'll see that the labels for the two "classes" will change, while the images do not.

The upper class is replaced by the "middle" class in the Republic.
