I've noticed recently looking around Sweden that one of my forts was running a semi-secret business...:inquisitive:

Anyone have any idea whether this is a feature or a bug of some sort? I'm not a history buff, don't shoot me if the Swedes actually had a habbit of hunting animals and selling their furs around forts...

well from my knowledge about US history, forts were also trading posts in the wild west...
:weirdthread:
It's a feature.

Ah, ok. Thank you for clearing it up. With my (lack of) knowledge about stuff I almost managed to convince myself that somehow the game confused itself and thought this was a fur trapper's post... :dizzy2: Guess I shouldn't make up theories.
Actually, it's a bug. Right click on any building, then a fort, and you'll see the previous building's info on the fort display.

This. I saw this on my campaign as well. It's just a display issue from what I can tell.
I'm pretty sure it's a feature until it gets hotfixed. Then it was a bug. ;)
Anyway, all seriousness aside it'd be great to have some limited control over settlements. They -did- found towns back then. Maybe if a fort is kept garrisoned for a certain amount of years it develops a chance of becoming the next town to emerge?
