I have an artillery unit with 113 (now 112) men!

This is a bug due to reinforcement with a fixed arty. Unit setting: normal size

I fought a battle in Afghanistan where I had two stacks of two cavalry and one with three infantry & the artillery. I attacked a Persion stack of two camel riders with one of the cavalry stacks. All of the cavalry & infantry reinforcements arrived and destroyed the Persians to the last man.

At the end of the battle I noticed that my line infantry regiment (1st Foot Rgt, the King's Own!) was down to 18 men, even though they had been at 113 when I last saw them on the field. I thought they received a charge in the rear from one of my own pursuing cavalry (happened in another battle). So I reinforced them.

Two turns later I attacked the province south of Afghanistan and noticed that I had an artillery regiment of 113 men!

I guess this is a bug, because the artillery was a fixed-arty unit, and never entered the first battle. Somehow, the soldiers in the line infantry got swapped with the artillery regiment.

It'd be pretty interesting if they got the appropriate number of guns to match the larger soldier size!

Yes. Napoleon would be proud.

I've so far been autocalcing my battles. I'll need to go back to war on those pesky Persians, and see how my super-artillery unit actually looks on the battlefield.

I've had this happen a couple of times now. IIRC, the foot cannon unit ended up with 4 cannons. It operates normally except when I move them there is this big herd of people following them around. I've been using my latest one to reinforce other cannon units that lose people.

I've heard of armies in the past cannibalizing their artillery and changing the troops to foot soldiers, but not sure I've heard of units of troops being cannibalized into artillery. Interesting glitch.
