got a popup thingy that says "GAMES HELD AT SPARTE!" "THIS TEXT SHOULD NEVER APPEAR ON THE SCREEN AND SHOULD NOT BE TRANSLATED!"

My appologies i forgot all the info crap...

its eb 1.1 and i've got all the patches n crud. I'm playing as KH and its like the year 268 or something, just before the 2nd olympics.....

its not a massive bug... i just never encountered it and wondered about it...

you still haven't told us what "bug" you are having.

from what you said you are getting a popup saying "games held at sparte" and you are pissy because it is not translated into ancient greek so we cannot read it. yeah, that makes sense.

Why shouldn't EB 1.2 work?
You can get EB 1.1 to work... just install 1.2 to the same target you've installed 1.1 to (it ends in "Rome - Total War" and not in "EB" since then you'll install 1.2 inside 1.1 and then it will just play 1.1).

Now try 1.2! :whip::beam:

I asked why you were still starting a new 1.1 campaign because 1.2 has been out for long and I no longer care to check 1.1 problems which may or may not be fixed by 1.2.

You answered well enough. Not sure why 1.2 wouldn't work for you though.

I have 1.2 with BI with one or two mods and i also have this pop up
"GAMES HELD AT SPARTE!" "THIS TEXT SHOULD NEVER APPEAR ON THE SCREEN AND SHOULD NOT BE TRANSLATED!"

Was wondering about this sort of text myself - i've had traits pope up on FM's with text saying "this should never appear" - it doesn't seem to make any kind of difference to the game though.

I've searched through our files for Sparte, and there is nothing like that in them. I think it must be a reference to something that's missing, causing the game to default to this weird text. I'm not going to spend any time tracking down what is the original event in EB1.
