I'm sure someone mentioned this before, but I can't find the thread.

I've just witnessed this in a cavalry skirmish using my Deli Horse and its really annoying, mainly because it makes it impossible to use 'fire and retire'.

You fire into the enemy, retire a safe distance, stand there like a lemon whilst the enemy approach and then AFTER they are in firing range suddenly remember you need to reload your carbine :dizzy2:

Needs sorting....the infantry seem to do it ok.

maybe this is related to the unit coherrency crap, like horse archers and all other ranged troops on horse act like infantry does -> unit not correctly setup in line -> nothing done until that line is met!?

Nope! don't think so. I placed half the map between myself and the enemy, and gave them plenty of time to settle. No movement, no dithering, everyone sitting nicely in formation. Then as soon as the enemy came within range they start trying to reload.

Infantry, reload as soon as they are idle so it just seems to be a cavalry bug.

I noticed this bug for the first time a few nights ago with the Native American auxilliary missle cavalry (playing Great Britain). Yes, this was terribly annoying, and I hope it's a quick and easy one for them to fix.

I'm pretty sure infantry do it too. I've seen infantry start reloading when an enemy moves into range before.

I think what might be happening is the reloading only begins if there is an enemy still within range. Since cavalry move so much faster than infantry (and fire en masse once as opposed to the infantry once you get Fire By Rank) it's very easy to shoot a volley and run before the reloading starts.

Yea, no one reloads while idle, not just cavalry lol.

Yeah it makes my horsemen function more like quick moving shoddy line infantry.

Infantry reload when idle...at least the Ottoman infantry does.

Glad to see I'm not the only one experiencing this. I mentioned it here several times but never saw anyone else confirm it. I've tried everything to fix it. The only thing that works is to dismount the units, if you can, and have them reload. Which isn't worth the effort.

All my infantry will happily reload when idle. Cavalry won't do it for love or money.
