Vote yea or nay on the following:

Petition by Robert: "Robert, baron of England requests upgrading of Caen barracks and extra troops to expand into bretagne or flanders".

Petition by Henry: "I beseech the king for troops be trained at nottingham and used to take york and then move north to take on the Scots."

"I Robert II, Duke of Normandy says nay on Henry's proposal.

Although I applaud York to be taken, I cannot condone warmongering against a nation which has done us no harm.
Should this petition be changed into the taking of York and send embassies to the King of Scotland to try and find out how he stands. But already openly talk of war against Scotland, while there have been no hostilities, is unacceptable.

Either adapt the petition or my nay stands."

(OOC: is there only one parliament? Or do you seperate house of Commons & Lords?)

a portly noble speaks up, and is that at all diffrent from trying to expand against the french? relations may be strained with them but the french are not yet our enemy. to try and take on the french when the isle does not bow to us is madness. Henry, a boy, already has more sense than you Robert.

Robert glared at the upstart.

"And WHERE have I advocated a war against the French? My petition is to expand into Bretagne OR Flanders. Both are not under French control. Therefore it is not I who am starting a war here. Not I who wants to attack a neutral kingdom.

Seriously, is this what this parliament is to become? Is our new nation to starts war left and right before it has had the time to build up strength and reputation? Gah!

Robert stormed out of the House. He would not spent a minute longer trying to convince such a fine collection of able men of their errors. He planned on taking the first ship back to Normandy. Why did he even bother to visit the first council, thinking things would change now. He still was the family outcast. Next time he would sent someone to speak for him and be doen with it.

My bad, homie. But I'm for one conquest at a time. I don't like the idea of the faction being split before we even start. (i.e-fighting in England and in France).

Don't take it as if I'm against you. I'm following what I believe to be right for this PBM

Remember guys that you have full control over your own armies. You only can't attack neutral or allied armies.

BTW, can you 3 please quickly vote on the next poll I'll put up?

wish was my whole point against henry's proposal..
All I wanted, was to grab the rebel cities first.

But now, we have to declare war on Scotland. Not a nice way to start a new country (you have to know that William the conquerer was actually just a french nobleman, liege to Henry of France... but he decided to conquer england. So at the start of the game, we're in fact a brand new country... immediately declarign war on Scotland is bad PR if u ask me :D)

And Bean: no offense taken, I just thought it was funny ^^

The proposal says we attack scotland, so we must declare war on the scots in the next turn :)

Don't worry mini. Petitions don't bind the King. They are only proposals which the Parliament votes on to deliver to the king. They effectively express the view of the Parliament.

And please quickly vote on the Quick Poll so we can get going.
