How do I get my men to march on roads like I see in these cool youtube videos

There is literally no reason to on the battlemap, they are just a map feature. Though you can group your units and put them into a column formation which will allow you to make your line thin enough to fit on a road.

On the strat map armies tend to stick to roads since they allow the army to march farther.
