Chairete!
As you may know, for some time now I've been recruiting members and preparing the general outlines of a Makedonian PBM (play by mail) game. It is finally ready to start, we only need players to chose an avatar and start playing, or be a Synedros!
For subscriptions and/or immediate avatar choosing, go here:
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=115523
I hope to see and debate with you all within the walls of the Synedrion, sympatriotai  And to kill Romaioi, of course.

Do you start again at 272 or later?
Sadly I don't have the time to take part in it, since I already devote to much time to EB at all... :sweatdrop:
Anyway, I wish you all the best for your game! I'm sure you will pull off a great and immersive campagin.
Why can't it be in the EB aar forum?
Meh I'd still call it an AAR.

It starts in 272BC, in the very miserable situation every Makedonian players always starts  I find it vital to go through such a phase in the beginning, for later it will prove very helpful. Once you have experience of difficult situations, you know how to act accordingly in the future.
Why can't it be in the EB aar forum?
Because, as Beanerz stated, it's not an AAR.
Meh I'd still call it an AAR.
I think you've misunderstood the definition of the acronym AAR. It stands for "After Action Report". We don't write action reports in PBM games. We play a campaign, were every player has a character that is somehow related to the game and makes every moves of his avatar according to decisions that are made in game threads, like the Synedrion (Council).

PBM also means play be mail/email, meaning one player plays for a bit and passes the save onto the next person for a bit after writing a AAR of his turn. Acronyms tend to lose their meanings on the internets.
Where I'm from AAR's and Community games are kept in the same forum, but eh, whatever works I guess.

He doesn't have to write anything. Actually, he doesn't, except battle reports. The Basilikos Grammateus (Royal Secretarian) does the work of posting summaries of the actions that were taken during a turn. That makes it a game, not a pure AAR. And that's why it's in the TR, not the AAR section. If you fail to understand the big difference between an AAR and a PBM game, then probably I shouldn't even be arguing about this :juggle:

Well either way, its a EB thing and thus should really be in the EB sub forums, even if it doesn't fit in your eyes.
(Yet more reason why EB needs its own forum.)
Whats the point of creating a Throne Room for each game, Vanilla and mods, when one suffices for all? The Throne Room houses EB, Med II and ETW PBM's, PBeM's, and Hotseats.

OK guys, I believe we're done with this. If anyone has questions about the game, that's cool.

By that logic why even have a subforum for EB or EBII at all when the Colosseum works just fine.
My point was that it seems to make more sense to have EB Related AARs and Community games in the EB/EB AAR subforums
Because there are hundreds of AAR's, subforums, topics and all sorts of things for all Vanilla games and mods to do with RTW, and it would take days to find soemthing relevant if it was all in the Colliseum. Theres only a handful of active PBM's for all Vanilla and mod games. What's wrong with the Throne Room? Do you just not know how to get there? Here, use this (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=38), and shortcut it, or add it to favourites or whatever. It's not difficult. It may open a whole new world to you. A world of glorious PBMS! Yay.

It's ok guys, keep it cool. There's no problem if Rilder doesn't want to visit any other forums except the EB ones. Who are we to judge anyway?

I would join, but I have no idea how PBM's work.https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/images/smilies/gc/gc-embarassed.gif
If you come to the Throne Room (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=38), theres a thread called How does one PBM? (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=30871). Alternatively you can access any of the ongoing PBM FAQ and rules threads, or visit any of the IC threads to get the gist.
Basically its a role play game, where players make their own moves with their own characters inside the game, but most of the action takes place in the forums.
Heres a list of the ongoing PBM's for quick access:
BtSH (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=264)-Beyond the Seven Hills, an EB Romani PBM (ongoing since just before Christmas)
WotB (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=262)-Will of the Basileus, an EB Arche Seleukeia PBM (dunno when this started)
LotR (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=256)-Last of the Romans, an M2TW Byzantine PBM (it's coming to an end but a sequel is planned)
MC (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=114650)-Magna Carta, an M2TW English (Norman) PBM (just started this week)
TVS (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=114590)-The Virgina Sun, an EB Makedonian PBM (just about to start)
There's also several write-ups and PBeMs and hotseats, which are slightly different. Just check it out. Anyone there will be happy to answer any questions.
