I saw a couple videos where you can see calvary men jumping over lines and infantry men behing thrown into the air...How can I see this? I get nothing like this.

I've never cavalry jump but if they charge an infanty line and hit it hard then men will be thrown into the air. Also elephants toss men into the air all the time.

If you do a correct charge with some heavy cavalry you will often get a few men tossed into the sky. Its pretty cool I admit.

He's talking about vainilla charges, when horses would jump over others while charging and infantrymen would jump to slash the enemy from above...

No, those animations were taken out from EB a loooooooooooong time ago.

WHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!? Really, I noticed the lack of them too. They were marvellous, but I suppose they were not realistic, is that not so?

For what it's worth, you get to see them every time you start EB.

You mean the vanilla RTW intro?

Heh, yeah, I sometimes watch that on my desktop, but if I watch the full intro on my laptop, rtw.exe quits working right after the intro finishes. Blame it on Vista.

Yep. Horses wouldn't jump into the middle of an melee, and certainly not when they were weighed down with heavy armour. It also would require considerable momentum to throw a man (especially one wearing armour) a few metres into the air, but horses are concerned with their own bones too and don't like collisions.

IIRC the jumping horses would also mess up spear formations, so even spear units couldn't counter charging cavalry.

I often have the same issue with my comp using xp - try to hit ecs a while before the intro finishes - maybe it will work normal then (it always does with me)

Hmmm... Odd. I never had issues with XP. It always works for me on my desktop. I wonder if this is on the RTW list of common bugs. Well, I am off to check it now!

thuere is an other solution "C:\Program Files\EBTrivialScript\EBTrivialScript.exe" -s ebconfig.xml -runeb -type "Single Player" -nm

Right click on the shortcut to EB on your desktop, choose properties and add “–nm” to the end of your shortcut, including a space between the ” which is already there and the -, e.g. "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -nm :2thumbsup:

Well, true, but Arcani and Flaming Pigs were likewise awesome and splendid and marvelous and spectacular and so on, but they were not realistic. I am certain we all liked them (mostly) and so did I. However, EB is just not that kind of mod that would compromise historical realism when it is possible to not.

Yeah, some of those vannila units were awesome, I recently decided to have a go at Vannila RTW, I played a custom battle with one stack of scythed chariots against one stack of peasants. But in EB, we wont be playing with flaming pigs and arcani because of an obvious reason.

Who said flaming pigs werent used against elephant???:book:
I think I just read something about it last week... But anyway jumping horsemen are also not too unrealtistic because if a horse is going at a target at full speed it off course has the instinct to avoid the obstacle by turning around or jumping over it. But anyway... Arcani, protectionless spartans, overkill chariots and the troops of the ancient pharao are of course rubbish...
