View Full Version : help! - nothing happens!
hello.
Ive recently attempted to Install EB but im having a problem getting it to work:
Ive installed both 1.3 and 1.5 patches and downloaded EB 1.1 and 1.2 patch and installed them in the same directory as the rest. But one the loading screen is up for EB everything freezes up and I have to shut down!
Any ideas about what the problem might be?

Dependent on your pc system the EB start may take a loooong time.
I have to wait for about a minute and my pc is a relatively good one.

Have patience, EB is more than worth it.
you should only have to wait this long the first time you run EB...

Every time EB loads after deleting map.rwm, it takes 10-15 minutes.
Yes, I am in desperate need of a new PC.

even on my high-end pc it still took i think 15 minutes the first time. after that loading should only take 3-5 minutes.

I disagree. How about checking your upgrade-ment options? If you have a desktop, then it should be possible to upgrade your RAM, processor (will have to get new cooling with that BTW), and (usually), your graphics card. Very cheap (compared to buying a new rig), simple, and beneficial. I upgraded my early 2006-vintage HP desktop (mediocre even when it was new) from 1GB RAM to 4GB and the processor from single 2.4gHz to quad 2.4gHz this year. Now my computer is ultra-fast, much better than the vast majority of the stuff they sell today.
Alternatively you could build yourself a new computer if you motherboard is hopelessly out of date (which I doubt, since that would have to be a really old computer).

No, not directly from your description. Please run a validation and post the full results here (as an uploaded file if necessary for its size). Also, try the suggestions there if you haven't already.
